I've never actually seen one until today...is it some kind of image file you don't have to open with a programme? I can't find it on any of my painting programmes...hmm...

The good part is that you can place them on a web page! Sometimes my stupid laptop saves any image in .ART format, they only program it opens it in is Internet Explorer. I have absolutely no idea why it's Internet Explorer but it is. Remember you can use them on a web page just place the tag like this:

<img src="whatever.ART">

It works for me! :)

I believe it's an old AOL image format. When I made my first Web site, all the images had the .art extension. I could see the images, but unless someone had the AOL browser they couldn't see them. Not too many people use it anymore.
