Since here are quite many members some of you probably use last.fm with Audioscrobbler. I'd be glad to had some friends there as I have none.

Hope last.fm can fix it soon. :(Yeah at first there were problems with submitting tracks and I was subscribed to compensate it but it still doesn't work smoothly. Even so, I like this service and keep using it in hope that it will be fixed soon. Paco 01-02-2006, 04:16 PM What is it? benjibo 01-02-2006, 04:28 PM you install this plugin and it record what song u play and send it to your profile and make friends with other people who listen to their music Monkey Bizzle 01-03-2006, 09:40 AM I have just spent several hours organizing my music with the right year, track number, title, album, artist, etc so I could start using this thing LOL! I think it's awesome! My profile thing is: http://www.last.fm/user/labeled-b*tch/ Of course, change the * to an i =) Merike 01-03-2006, 12:18 PM I have just spent several hours organizing my music with the right year, track number, title, album, artist, etc so I could start using this thing LOL! Monkey Bizzle 01-03-2006, 05:10 PM I've had my music playing on mute all night long to get all my songs in the database LOL! Merike 01-03-2006, 05:41 PM I've had my music playing on mute all night long to get all my songs in the database LOL! Talk about perfectionism! I'm sometimes perfectionist aswell yet I haven't done that. Monkey Bizzle 01-03-2006, 08:30 PM Talk about perfectionism! I'm sometimes perfectionist aswell yet I haven't done that. I am very @nal about things. If it can be organized, I'll do everything in my power to make sure it's as organized as it can possibly be LOL! It can be annoying at times, though. For example, when I put songs on my MP3 player, there is a field for "release year." If I don't fill it in, it bothers me... Even though it doesn't display on the MP3 player screen, and I really don't care when the song was released, it's just this big blank space staring at me on the computer screen screaming "FILL ME IN!!" so I do... and then get mad at myself for spending so much time on amazon/google looking up release dates... I might be starting to feel sorry for you. I mean all the time you use for that, you could be helping people here or being with friends or doing a layout... Or you could just enjoy entering dates since it can feel good aswell (for a while), but that's the top geekyness :). darkunknown2005 01-03-2006, 09:49 PM I'm kind of interested in this, never ever heard of it, maybe i will try it =), so u just like load ur music onto this website? Merike 01-03-2006, 10:39 PM I'm kind of interested in this, never ever heard of it, maybe i will try it =), so u just like load ur music onto this website? You don't need to do it as MonkeyBizzle did. You can simply register, install a plugin and continue to listening to your favourite player and after a while all your songs will be there and you can see which songs are the most popular or find people with similar music taste. darkunknown2005 01-04-2006, 02:08 AM o i get it now thanks for the info =) Monkey Bizzle 01-04-2006, 02:34 AM You don't need to do it as MonkeyBizzle did. If I didn't do it for this, I would have had to do it eventually anyways when I put my music on my MP3 player... You make me out to be some uber geek and I'm really not. I just like organization in my life. Merike 01-04-2006, 09:41 AM You make me out to be some uber geek and I'm really not. That's really not how I wanted it to look. Also for me "geek" is a rather positive than negative word. Monkey Bizzle 01-04-2006, 10:08 AM That's really not how I wanted it to look. Also for me "geek" is a rather positive than negative word. Okay LOL! No hard feelings =) Isn't there anyone else out of the 40,000 members on this forum that uses Audioscrobbler? benjibo 01-04-2006, 06:24 PM i do but i doesent work with iTunes very well :( Monkey Bizzle 01-04-2006, 07:16 PM i do but i doesent work with iTunes very well I'm glad I decided not to use iTunes. =P I was using iTunes for a little while to tag my music because it's easier to do than in Windows Media Player... But then I realized that it only changed the iTunes tags for most of the songs so when I opened it in another program they would be wrong again... (that's part of the reason I literally spent HOURS the other day organizing my music because I had to do it twice for most of my songs...). It seems to work pretty well with Windows Media Player. =) tokyo bleu 01-05-2006, 03:14 AM I've been a member of Audioscrobbler since November 2004. I have the Winamp & iTunes plugins installed... how hardcore, haha. psychochick 01-05-2006, 05:53 AM what is a plug-in? Monkey Bizzle 01-05-2006, 07:17 AM what is a plug-in? It's a thing that adds extra features to programs. In this case, the plug-in records your song info and sends it to the last.fm website so other people can see what kind of music you listen to and who you listen to the most, etc. After you play a certain number of tracks, it matches you up with other people who like similar music as you, and recommends bands that you might like. Referring to your PM, this plug in is safe. psychochick 01-05-2006, 07:17 AM but is it like spyware or could there be a virus from it? Monkey Bizzle 01-05-2006, 07:29 AM but is it like spyware or could there be a virus from it? Nah... I've run a spy/ad ware and virus scan since I've installed my plug-in and nothing came up. psychochick 01-05-2006, 07:32 AM i would download it but i dont have antivirus so im being really paranoid right now... is there a way you can put songs but not have it need to be recorded w/ the plug in (like if you just listed them or somthin) Monkey Bizzle 01-05-2006, 07:33 AM is there a way you can put songs but not have it need to be recorded w/ the plug in (like if you just listed them or somthin) No. That's the whole point of audioscrobbler to keep track of what you listen to as you listen to it. Merike 01-05-2006, 10:51 AM i would download it but i dont have antivirus so im being really paranoid right now...There's no reason to be paranoid, there are many users and I've never heard something about spyware coming with this service nor have I got any spyware myself. So if you're really interested in it, that shouldn't stop you. |
