Try deleting your location and adding it again. I might have fixed it ;)

You can delete your entry yourself just by clicking on the "Your Entry" button and then check "delete information."

You can pick out houses in my neighborhood by switching to the satellite version :lol:

That was quite funny, clicked on where about i thought my house was and it was the right road and wuite close to my house, so I changed it and put the marker in my local town.

Cool. I added myself to this one, but I don't think it shows up yet. Hmm... It is cool though. I like the way the other map was though, where you could type in your location instead of having to find it on the latitude and longitude. Of course, I'm lazy. :P

I agree. It's bad enough people can stalk some of us based on domain info, but is there a way to make the googlemap mod only viewable by certain members?

As in the other thread, which is accessible to the same people who can access the forum feature, if you don't want people to know where you live, then don't put yourself on the map...

Right now, it's viewable only by members. At this point, none of the COPPA (under thirteen) users have posted their location. I'm working on making it so that no one under 13 can post there. Kids are smart enough not to post their exact location. There IS a location shown in every post you make ;) So far that hasn't been an issue.

Like I said before, I don't think this is a big deal, but I don't think it's 100% safe. I'm just agreeing with Starlet's statement about this being a kid's forum.

You can stop concerning yourself over the googlemap matter. It's only viewable and useable by registered members who are 13 or older. Anyone younger cannot see it, unless of course they lied in their application, which is not Lissa's fault. The map is also only viewable and useable by members who are registered.

No kidding it's a kids forum :rolleyes: I think there's some overreaction going on, it's just a fun thing, and each person can choose whether or not they can post their location. I have people get mad when they can't post certain things (links with curse words, suggestive language etc.) because it's a kid's forum, and then when there's something that's harmless and if someone 13 or younger actually posts their location I can delete it, people argue. Where's the happy medium? :dead:

How many times did I state that it's not that big of a deal with me? :mad: I was just agreeing with a statement someone else made. There is some overreacting going on, and it wasn't from solely me until people decided to read only what they wanted to from my posts and make something of it.

If I found so much offense from the map, I wouldn't have added myself to the map, right? I was only agreeing with someone else, not trying to argue. I seriously had no idea there was any arguing going on! Wow. I don't come here for one day and people are getting overly protective of insignificant matters. I wasn't "concerning" myself over the whole map thing, nor was I trying to claim the internet is "100% safe". When I made the "100% safe" statement I was talking about how you can't expect 100% of all of the people who join a forum aimed at kids to all be safe (since kids don't always make wise choices). All I did was agree with someone and I'm overreacting.
