Are you using Christmas layout, because I couldn't aswell until I changed layout to regular one. *Jen* 12-05-2005, 01:44 PM Added myself. ;) allie 12-05-2005, 02:23 PM Fun! Although my marker isn't yellow? :confusion Try deleting your location and adding it again. I might have fixed it ;) kittycat 12-05-2005, 03:29 PM I really hope there's no 'your entry' button on the Christmas layout, because I looked all over and couldn't find it and I'd feel stupid if it were obvious :P It's very clear on the other layout, though :buckt: allie 12-05-2005, 03:39 PM I really hope there's no 'your entry' button on the Christmas layout, because I looked all over and couldn't find it and I'd feel stupid if it were obvious :P It's very clear on the other layout, though :buckt: It's not there. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Maybe Lissa can :stickout: luvhartz 12-05-2005, 04:04 PM i added me :) and lol i felt silly because i was like "what add entry button .. am i sure thats what it said.. yes... hmmm.. what are those X's... aahhhh :D now.. why wont ti show up lol..." benjibo 12-05-2005, 04:13 PM it seems i live thery near Starlet, could someone delete mine, it put it exact pb&j 12-05-2005, 04:20 PM wow, that thing can really go in very close with streets and everything. i just entered my nearby city area. starlet 12-05-2005, 05:04 PM I know, it's scary...I could have marked EXACTLY my road  I'm not at all convinced this thing it a good idea for a kids forum >< benjibo 12-05-2005, 05:10 PM i think it may get spammed with irrelivant place (eg, middle of ocean) so, thats a downside, maby there should be a poll wethere people like it or not? Monkey Bizzle 12-05-2005, 07:18 PM Are you using Christmas layout, because I couldn't aswell until I changed layout to regular one. Hooray! That worked =) I added myself. allie 12-05-2005, 07:27 PM i think it may get spammed with irrelivant place (eg, middle of ocean) so, thats a downside, maby there should be a poll wethere people like it or not? You can delete your entry yourself just by clicking on the "Your Entry" button and then check "delete information." You can pick out houses in my neighborhood by switching to the satellite version  Paco 12-05-2005, 07:33 PM That was quite funny, clicked on where about i thought my house was and it was the right road and wuite close to my house, so I changed it and put the marker in my local town. Angelica 12-05-2005, 08:45 PM Cool. I added myself to this one, but I don't think it shows up yet. Hmm... It is cool though. I like the way the other map was though, where you could type in your location instead of having to find it on the latitude and longitude. Of course, I'm lazy. :P jessi15 12-05-2005, 09:32 PM I should go visit kittycat :P This thing is cool. putnamehere 12-05-2005, 09:40 PM i dont think i'm on googelmap Douglas 12-05-2005, 10:17 PM That is confusing lol... I cant seem to do anything... lefty 12-06-2005, 12:00 AM yay I'm back on the map :) salomeyasobko 12-06-2005, 01:48 AM Okay, i changed mine to my school.. because it was dangerously close to my house  kiara 12-06-2005, 01:56 AM you can change it? salomeyasobko 12-06-2005, 02:02 AM not on the christmas theme, but yeah. you click on "your entry" allie 12-06-2005, 02:25 AM Okay, i changed mine to my school.. because it was dangerously close to my house  That's a very good idea ;) sisqoluv 12-06-2005, 03:54 AM wee i'm on there too! all alone on the west coast :buckt: Not anymore :) I know, it's scary...I could have marked EXACTLY my road  I'm not at all convinced this thing it a good idea for a kids forum >< I agree. It's bad enough people can stalk some of us based on domain info, but is there a way to make the googlemap mod only viewable by certain members? Monkey Bizzle 12-06-2005, 05:18 AM I don't get it... When someone started this thread: http://www.lissaexplains.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47347 no one complained about people being able to come find you, etc... But now that it's added as a forum feature it's suddenly a big deal... As in the other thread, which is accessible to the same people who can access the forum feature, if you don't want people to know where you live, then don't put yourself on the map... sisqoluv 12-06-2005, 05:50 AM I don't remember seeing that thread... But I think it's somewhat of a deal here because younger kids may not know better and place their address. Monkey Bizzle 12-06-2005, 06:12 AM But I think it's somewhat of a deal here because younger kids may not know better and place their address. That's true, but they could as easily pull up that other thread and do the same thing. I'm not against it in any way. I think it's really neat. I just don't see why it's all of a sudden a big deal... sisqoluv 12-06-2005, 08:45 AM I think it's neat, too, but if I would have saw that other thread I probably would have made the same comment about the kids. freakish_dude_ 12-06-2005, 09:22 AM that googlemap thing is racist!!! it doesn't have any streets in australia! Monkey Bizzle 12-06-2005, 09:26 AM that googlemap thing is racist!!! it doesn't have any streets in australia! LMAO! allie 12-06-2005, 11:45 AM Not anymore :) I agree. It's bad enough people can stalk some of us based on domain info, but is there a way to make the googlemap mod only viewable by certain members? Right now, it's viewable only by members. At this point, none of the COPPA (under thirteen) users have posted their location. I'm working on making it so that no one under 13 can post there. Kids are smart enough not to post their exact location. There IS a location shown in every post you make ;) So far that hasn't been an issue. lefty 12-06-2005, 11:45 AM that googlemap thing is racist!!! it doesn't have any streets in australia! You mean you have streets down there? sisqoluv 12-06-2005, 11:00 PM There IS a location shown in every post you make ;) So far that hasn't been an issue. If someone can locate me solely based on "California" and "SisqoLuv", then I have to shake their hand  But there is a big difference between putting "California" in your location and giving everyone a map, lol. Like I said before, I don't think this is a big deal, but I don't think it's 100% safe. I'm just agreeing with Starlet's statement about this being a kid's forum. Angelica 12-06-2005, 11:15 PM Hey, what is the Christmas theme? :P I'm slow so I don't know about this. sisqoluv 12-07-2005, 12:31 AM Look at the very bottom of the page and you should see a drop down menu :D allie 12-07-2005, 01:19 AM If someone can locate me solely based on "California" and "SisqoLuv", then I have to shake their hand  But there is a big difference between putting "California" in your location and giving everyone a map, lol. Like I said before, I don't think this is a big deal, but I don't think it's 100% safe. I'm just agreeing with Starlet's statement about this being a kid's forum. You can stop concerning yourself over the googlemap matter. It's only viewable and useable by registered members who are 13 or older. Anyone younger cannot see it, unless of course they lied in their application, which is not Lissa's fault. The map is also only viewable and useable by members who are registered. Oh, and by the way, the internet is not 100% safe ;) pb&j 12-07-2005, 03:24 AM Oh, and by the way, the internet is not 100% safe ;) *gasp* aaaahhhhh!!!!!! run! run! run around in circles till you get really dizzy and lose conciousness! *faints* :D Lissa 12-07-2005, 02:20 PM If someone can locate me solely based on "California" and "SisqoLuv", then I have to shake their hand  But there is a big difference between putting "California" in your location and giving everyone a map, lol. Like I said before, I don't think this is a big deal, but I don't think it's 100% safe. I'm just agreeing with Starlet's statement about this being a kid's forum. No kidding it's a kids forum  I think there's some overreaction going on, it's just a fun thing, and each person can choose whether or not they can post their location. I have people get mad when they can't post certain things (links with curse words, suggestive language etc.) because it's a kid's forum, and then when there's something that's harmless and if someone 13 or younger actually posts their location I can delete it, people argue. Where's the happy medium? :dead: Paco 12-07-2005, 02:22 PM I think that its a great idea. Silence4me2 12-07-2005, 06:07 PM Yea I like this feature. Lissa did say not to put your exact location. Which I didn't. Besides I have watch dogs lol j/k unless you would call rat terriers that. I have a brother, a cousin, and more cousins so im safe. lol So far im the only one in Texas. sisqoluv 12-09-2005, 02:45 AM How many times did I state that it's not that big of a deal with me? I was just agreeing with a statement someone else made. There is some overreacting going on, and it wasn't from solely me until people decided to read only what they wanted to from my posts and make something of it. If I found so much offense from the map, I wouldn't have added myself to the map, right? I was only agreeing with someone else, not trying to argue. I seriously had no idea there was any arguing going on! Wow. I don't come here for one day and people are getting overly protective of insignificant matters. I wasn't "concerning" myself over the whole map thing, nor was I trying to claim the internet is "100% safe". When I made the "100% safe" statement I was talking about how you can't expect 100% of all of the people who join a forum aimed at kids to all be safe (since kids don't always make wise choices). All I did was agree with someone and I'm overreacting. "I know, it's scary...I could have marked EXACTLY my road  I'm not at all convinced this thing it a good idea for a kids forum" Sorry for agreeing. :dead: But thanks for the sarcasm through this unneeded "arguement" I was unaware exisited until I read the last few posts. Now that's overreacting :P adrielle 12-09-2005, 07:09 AM You mean you have streets down there? Oh where I live we we call the tree tops our home  whee I added myself, but I can't see it. I shall submit an official report to Google about this, where's my street! |
