Voters here approved making Denver the first major city to legalize small amounts of marijuana, but the mayor warned that state law still makes possession of the drug illegal.

How can you legalize it in a city if the state law overrides city law? I mean, doesn't that defeat the purpose?

I think its only illegal when you do it in public..
Here in the Netherlands marijuana is legal for decades in small amounts.

i see no reason why it should be illegal, i mean if they want to smoke it let them do it, its their body
