View Full Version : Absent Mindedness
Monkey Bizzle 11-06-2005, 06:57 PM I have a serious problem with this...
There is an empty soda can sitting on the table next to me and I just got a new one out of the fridge... I put the new one on the floor but I kept grabbing the one on the table. So, I switched it up and put the new one on the table because that's the one I kept going for but then I started grabbing for the one on the floor =/
Does anyone else do stuff like that? all the time LOL!
Yep all the time, it starts to get really annoying.
If you find away to stop it please tell me.
Chris 11-06-2005, 07:18 PM How about putting them empty can in the bin?

Chris 11-06-2005, 07:31 PM Well...its more like common sense.
Douglas 11-06-2005, 07:54 PM Yes, ive done stuff like that before... i hate it, it gets annoying sometimes.
Monkey Bizzle 11-06-2005, 07:59 PM How about putting them empty can in the bin?
LOL! But that makes too much sense!! And would involve me getting off the couch and I'm lazy =P
::continues to make excuses for why she didn't do the blatantly obvious::
Ellethwen 11-06-2005, 08:33 PM All the time. I'm doing it right now in fact. I have to write something and I'm using teh compy for research. I'm supposed to use pencil but I keep grabbing the pen. I'm not allowed to move the pen off the desk. It's sacred...I guess. I just keep losing them if I move them...
Magln Meow 11-07-2005, 06:05 AM Umm... No, not really. I do silly things. But um, well, nothing like that recently.
salomeyasobko 11-07-2005, 06:44 AM i know what you mean! i do dumb things like that all the time. i think i spend too much brain power on school so when i get home my logic/ sense shuts off and i act really stupid :P

I'm confused, I thought that you where 38, because in the 'How old are you' you said that you where 38.

38 year olds can go to school... ;)
38 year olds can go to school... ;)
Oh, I forgot about that.
So is she really 38?
Chris 11-07-2005, 09:29 PM Yeah. Why would she lie?

^^ that is my excuse for the following:
-loosing my keys on a daily basis
-forgetting where i put my phone
-washing jeans with stuff in pockets by accident
-opening a tin of rice pudding instead of peach slices and only realising when i taste it (yes i even pick up the spoon instead of a fork and eat it before i notice)
-not being about to count like 8+477 when i am an A* maths student
-Saying thingy alot or whatitsname (which makes my english teacher laugh i think shes scared actually)
-forgetting crap
-daydreaming and not realising until i snap out of said day dream.
-the list goes on... i have very little common sence apparently

I do the same thing. And then someone will point it out, and I will invariably say "But that's far too easy!"
benjibo 11-08-2005, 05:22 PM i do stuff like that... i keep on using a knife as a fork, sometimes when the bathroom light is on, i turn it off thinking that i have switched it on. Also, I go thingymagika or watdjyacallit. My geography and German books are exacly the same, i sometimes i take my German book when i have geography. I also have beign renowned as beign clumsy.
Angelica 11-09-2005, 12:39 AM I'm constantly forgetting things, and doing silly stuff. It gets really annoying after a while. Kind of funny in a way, but still annoying.
salomeyasobko 11-09-2005, 01:26 AM I'm confused, I thought that you where 38, because in the 'How old are you' you said that you where 38.
are you calling me stupid for being 38 and still in school?
Dude128 11-09-2005, 03:30 AM are you calling me stupid for being 38 and still in school?
wait, still? I thought you were working for a while and went back to school to get a degree?
salomeyasobko 11-09-2005, 05:14 AM wait, still? I thought you were working for a while and went back to school to get a degree?
yeah, but then i learned that in order to get a degree you have to have your GED first :( who would've known?!?
adrielle 11-09-2005, 01:08 PM  I had a similar experience with a paragraph I was copying out from the comp. I kept erasing it and rewriting it and then erasing it again. In the end I rewrote it. The exact same thing. I had some pretty thin paper.
Marta 11-09-2005, 06:52 PM Yesterday I was going to have a piece of bread with melted cheese. So I sliced the bread and put it in the microwave. Then I was like, oh, maybe I should put the cheese on first. So I looked in the fridge and my mom had used up all the cheese earlier, so I decided to have toast with jam instead.
Shirl 11-10-2005, 04:06 AM Ive done tons of funny stuff like that. I think the funniest was putting my school book in the kitchen cupboard and carrying food to my room. :P
iGeek 11-10-2005, 05:11 AM ^^ :lolol:
Ah, where to begin...
I'm really stupid (as everyone knows, I'm sure), so I do things like that. It comes naturally. Like when I had a dog treat in one hand and a chip in the other, and I tryed eating the dog treat, but I realized it was a dog treat when it was half-way into my mouth, so I took it out, ate the chip, got another chip, tryed to eat the fricken dog treat again, I mean, GOSH!!!
Monkey Bizzle 11-10-2005, 05:14 AM Josh uses it against me sometimes... I'm known for losing my keys, A LOT! Well, yesterday HE misplaced the laundry room key and then blamed it on me!!
starlet 11-10-2005, 04:54 PM I once put the teapot in the fridge where i'd got the milk from and the milk on the counter where the teapot usually lives.
Monkey Bizzle 11-10-2005, 06:16 PM ...where the teapot usually lives.
LOL!
Marta 11-10-2005, 08:00 PM Yesterday I was going to have a piece of bread with melted cheese. So I sliced the bread and put it in the microwave. Then I was like, oh, maybe I should put the cheese on first. So I looked in the fridge and my mom had used up all the cheese earlier, so I decided to have toast with jam instead.
Ok, so the silly part is that last night my mom was looking for the cheese. She said she hadn't used it up. She found it in the butter compartment. I guess somebody else had been absent minded too!!!:lolol:
horsechick321 11-10-2005, 10:43 PM I had a dog treat in one hand and a chip in the other, and I tryed eating the dog treat, but I realized it was a dog treat when it was half-way into my mouth, so I took it out, ate the chip, got another chip, tryed to eat the fricken dog treat again, I mean, GOSH!!!
omg, i have done the exact same thing! :lolol:
horsechick321 11-10-2005, 10:45 PM what i do all the time is put the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge.
Angelica 11-11-2005, 03:07 AM I look for glasses that are on my head, hairbows wrapped around my wrists, socks that are in my hands (I was actually holding them in my hand, and didn't realize it. ???) The list of stuff I do is endless.
Magln Meow 11-11-2005, 03:15 AM Ooh, I remember now. Yea, I put butter in the freezer once. Hmm, I don't even remember my stupid things. I know I do a lot of them.
Ayosu_Ling 11-11-2005, 03:15 AM what i do all the time is put the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge.
YES! i do the exact same. except i really don't realize what i'm doing so about an hour later i'm like
wait...
Monkey Bizzle 11-11-2005, 05:15 PM I look for...socks that are in my hands (I was actually holding them in my hand, and didn't realize it. ???)
I do that too!! Once, I got a Klondike bar (ice cream bar for those who don't know) out of the freezer and something else caught my attention. Then I couldn't remember where I put my bar down at... but I hadn't put it down at all!! Here I am wondering where it was, and I could feel the coldness in my hands, but it just didn't register LOL!
Owlie42 11-12-2005, 11:04 PM what i do all the time is put the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge.
I do that too! Or, trying to get the milk out, I'll open the pantry.
I'll look for ponytail holders that are around my wrist (I usually put them on my left wrist, so I guess I assume the weight there is my watch...)
