Okay, I have two random (and stupid) questions.

The first is, how do I get myself listed on a search engine? I have Meta tags on my website, and yet I'm still not showing up. Do I have to submit my site or pay?

The second question regards email addresses that have a website url in them. I have no idea how you would check an email address like: laura@tainted-oblivion.net or lissa@lissaexplains.com. Where would you go to do this?

Thanks.

many search engines have manual submission forms somewhere on the site that you can use, and others (like Google) crawl the Internet regularly and will eventually pick up your site. also, meta tags are rather out-dated. I believe the way Google works is that it crawls the Internet, and rankings are based on how many other sites link to yours. don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works (or it's similar at least). also, Google doesn't use the meta keywords or description for it's listings, either, but instead it uses the actual text of your pages.

for e-mail: most paid hosting companies provide an e-mail system that is used to control the e-mail accounts and for checking mail and all that. I know one is called squirrelmail, and hosting companies that use it might set it up so that you go to http://www.[domain].com/squirrelmail, where you would log in to check your e-mail.
