It's mainly a UK thing though other countrys do celebrate it...the wikipedia page will explain to you the history behind it, but really...in modern days it's just an excuse for a week long party of bonfires, fireworks and toffe apples :) SUPER RP06 11-02-2005, 01:32 AM That includes -gasoline -lighter fluid -full propane tanks -chemicals -anything that has a flammable symbol And don't put aresol cans (eg: hair spray, air freaheners in containers) in a bonfire, it'll explode. Don't play with fire. Don't play with fireworks Remember to bring wood to make a bonfire Don't pour gasoline on a bonfire! Owlie42 11-02-2005, 04:02 AM o so you basically worship him in this ceremony lol ? No, they burn him in effigy. Why can't we have "holidays" like that? You guys (no pun intended) get all the fun ones. Ours have to be "safe" and "child-friendly" to make up for our depressing lack of common sense. adrielle 11-02-2005, 12:17 PM Why have we no "holidays", of any of that sort whatsoever? :( we just have trad days and everything but none so fun :P benjibo 11-02-2005, 05:43 PM The only downside about Bonfire Night is, you cant let your pets out coz the big bangs scare them and they run off, our cat ran off last year and we couldnt find her until mid-january |
