I need to ban a visitor who often causes problems at my site. I've tried to ban his IP on my taggie (I use Tagger) but the problem is that everytime he posts, his IP changes. I checked his different IP numbers, and, he writes from all over the world. The US, then, in his next post 1 hour later, he's writing from the UK. So he's using a proxy.

The question is, is there ANYTHING I can do to ban him?

So I tried to ban a certain URL (in tagger, instead of banning users, I tried banning words, (bad words.db) and the problem is that tagger doesn't allow me to ban slashes / so I can't ban http://

Then I need to ask how can I ban him from my site, and not only my tagger?

If you could block certen ports then try blocking port 8080.

Its your ISP and its an IP address that changes every so often

8080 isn't the default HTTP port, 80 is although 8080 is often used if 80 isn't usable. Blocking ports won't help him because then no visitor can visite the site and i have the feeling that its shared hosting so he even can't block ports. if he uses a proxy there is just no way to ban someone unless you ban everyone

Yes port 80 is used by http so why would i say block this port, thats jsut silly
anway port 8080 is very offten used by proxys so blocking that would help but you propely wouldent be able to do this unless you got in tuch with your hosting provider.

Not my lucky day.

- OK, so, if using Tagger, can I ban certain URLS??

- Also, how can I get a proxy?

Hey I used to have this problem. What I would say is try if you can get hold of the info that is try contacting his ISP and tell them what he's doing they
may give his computer IP (which if i'm thinking right you CAN'Tchange)
