You can download the software (http://speedfan.org/speedfan.php) to measure your PC's temperature. Here's a screenie of my laptop's temp when it's just come out of standby (http://v2.tgohome.com/speedfan0001.jpg)

Normally my laptop will reach about 40c.

Post what your computer's Temp 1 is.

My cpu is currently at 24c / 75f ....too lazy to look at the other temps.

Oh, a few weeks ago our computer (the other one) kept shutting down because the fan was broken so my dad downloaded thins thing that read the temperature. It was about 50c at the time but we had to put this fan up against the computer (it was quite funny really) then it was 40c (I can't remember exactly) and then it actually worked. Now we still have it and its about 40c.

ummm.... 102C?? the computer would surely fry, right? do you mean F?

no, I'm capable of distinguishing between an F and a C ;)

like I said, I don't know what they are (the program spitted those out, so I included them as well), so they could be meaningless.

no something is wrong with the temp sensor or your computer is having a little cooling problem...

could you post a screenie?

Its absolutely normal that speedfan gives wrong values if he does not detect a sensor or detects its wrong. Nothing to worry about.

obviously the temperature is being read wrong... ignore them...

I already said they were probably meaningless (and common sense dictates that they then be disregarded)...

why would you use speedfan if a nxzt nemesis elite does it for you? i hate speedfan,it nearly killed my cpu last month.

p4 2.6ht currently on 3.25
idle 21c load 34c
hdd idle 22c load 32c
case temp inside 23c

i have 9 fans (5 case 1gpu 1 cpu 3psu).

i get about 8500 points on 3d mark 2005,wonder if that's any good

well I brought one of my desktop's fans down to 40% and there was no problem at all.... i can't see what is wrong with it...

Thats a nice score, so you bought a 7800GTX or a XI800 ?
How can speedfan kill your proc? Its the user not the program imho. If you speed down your fans it might get overheated yes ;)

i have a 9800 pro with the xt bios and that thing runs 412/365
my corsair is clocked over a bit too,i have those flashy leds on them(pc3200)

i just wonder why my rail isn't stable when the heater is on the last couple of weeks, must be something with pressure or something.

speedfan nearly killed my little northy because of me putting the freaking thing on 0 rpm (was meaning 1000,oops)

Hmm with cool and quiet on i can cool my CPU passive, it sticks around 60 degrees then :) Not stressed.

I think 8500 with a 9800PRO is a great score, i'm not even sure if i have to believe this. Some other guy i know that pushed his x850XT to the edge with his northwood 3.0 @ around 4 GHz only has a score around the 7000. So are you confusing 3dmark 05 with 03 or something? Also big chance that your motherboard will shut down the pc when it reaches a certain temperature :)

I'm too lazy to download anything so I rebooted and checked the BIOS...

Right now its at about 134 degrees F. If it hits 140, the BIOS shuts the computer off, I've already fried the processer 2 times. Normally it runs at 138, but at idle its about 100.

All temps are using the Farenheit(sp?) scale

My PC that I have got built but sitting around with no os on it yet, I was in BIOS about 2 weeks ago checking my temps wondering if they had anything to do with my PC shutting down after about 3 minutes of running. Sure enough a bad CPU fan/heatsink. It was reading 0RPM's and when the PC was shutting off, sure enough, 100C, yes, 100 freaking C. Thats like 250F. I got lucky it didn't fry my CPU. After doing it several times to try and find what was wrong, I am so lucky. I put in the standard CPU fan that came with it and works fine. If I can remember, my case was around 30C, CPU at like 37C. I have my cpu fan, mobo fan, 2 120mm fans I put in myself, 2 80mm fans that came in the case, and a 2 fan psu. In any event, I have all my problems solved I just need time to install xp and everything else.

I used to have a big problem with over heating on my old computer. I couldnt leave it turned on for more than a few hours or it would cause a circuit break for the whole house or just switch itself off. This computer i have now i can leave it on for as long as i want, its been on all morning and its freezing. In my school the computer rooms are always sooo hot :(
