me and my friends were arguing beacuse some of us were really TV addicts, but some of us were computer additcts. and we were aguing which was better..(not which you like more).

My argument was that Computer was a better one beacuse aleast you use your beain in some why...for example typing...but when you watch tv you dont use your brain at all.

what do you think?

Well, this is a computer-related forum, so I suspect most of the people will choose the computer :)

^Guilty as charged. Computer. I agree, typing, programming, figuring out why the heck your website is not working all makes use of your brain.

I feel my brain turn to mush if I watch TV too long. It just doesn't stimulate my mind at all.

^Same here, but not if I'm watching CNN or NOVA or something.

I think in general using a computer, regardless of what you're doing, is better because it's more stimulating. with TV the most you have to do is reach for the remote and think about which channels are which.

I think comuter is the best. There is never anything to watch anymore...which is why I have a work out room next to my computer and i wide open floor to exercise when i bored....but when your watching t.v......you tend to stare at it and all of the images on the screen become two....

Off topic: Web_guy, :P I like your siggy, I know binary code. Well, at least I can recite the alphabet.

Well, I think the computer is better. It requires thinking and it's definetly more fun. Although TV can be good if you are watching something educational, but that is rare these days.

I'm the only one who said TV! I'm usually doing both - laptop on my lap while I'm watching tv. That's me from 8-11 every night.

i have a tv card in my pc. its a piece fo work iwil tell you that much. I have my pc hooked up to ym tv and then the tv coming in via th etuners, which is then routed to the tv when the progrma is turned on. It sucks though cause it only maximizes on the default monitor...

Anyway i go for playing sports, but since that isnt an option, i will choose working on the computer, not playing.

The problem with TV here in the netherlands is that it is TOO commercialised. When i was a kid i watched a lot TV, but in these days there were really good programs. Today they only make bad programs to make a lot of money and as fast and cheap as possible like those dozens of reality programs and stuff. Get original.

computer of course. It requires you to use your brain, everything has to be pre-determined before you do it. even playing games online requires a lot of brain function. it is especially good if you are a programmer/htmler/websiter, problem solving is good for the brain.

Isn't there's a "both watching TV and playing computer" option?

Anyways going on the computer is a great idea. You can look up information on the Internet, like news, blogs, etc.

I go on the computer to see what's going on on the LEIA forums.

Id have to say that computer is better because youre actually doing something, not just looking. You can also do a lot more on the computer, so yeah.

i would say computer. i mean your closer to the computer so that cant be good for your eyes. also the net has lead to all sorts of problems with chat rooms and stuff. however, the computer is more fun than being stuck infront of the television. either way it means ur sat there, which is obviously very bad for our health!!!

My school work is actually on the computer.
So, when i'm finished with that, I usually get to programming or creating something. I usually only watch TV when the computers are both taken, my fingers are sore beyond all reason because of guitar playing for hours, i'm out of stuff to read or my book is missing, my friends aren't around, or if a really good movie or music video/special is on.

My mom once told me that I spent to much time on the computer, until I showed her a website I made. Now i'm wokring on the webpage for our family site.
