This is a slightly strange question, I know, but does anyone know anything about Windows XP not being compatable with the SSH 'Putty' program?
It worked fine with my old computer--Windows 95--but XP won't allow me to open the program.
Also--anyone know of a good/wonderful SSH in leu that no one can answer my previous question?

I have Windows XP and I can use putty fine. Are you sure that you have all of the current windows updates for xp? That causes problems sometimes.

Also, with some hosts you need to enable SSH first. I know with dreamhost, for example, that you need to go into your account and change your settings so that you're allowed to use putty. You can find something about it with your host's help section...and if it doesn't have one, you can write in a request to have it enabled through site support.
