Does anyone read Nicholas Sparks? I absolutely love his books, even though they're all cheesy love stories. They always have a good twist.

I've read almost all of them. I just finished The Rescue, and I'm now reading Nights in Rodanthe. The only ones I haven't read are Three Weeks With My Brother, True Believer, and At First Sight (which comes out Oct 18). Just wondering if there are any other fans out there, and what your favorite book is, etc.

I prefer the movies made after his books. A Walk To Remember and The Notebook were such awesome movies! So I decided to read The Notebook and it was awful! I *hate* the way he writes! It was very boring for me to read. I thought maybe it was just that book so I decided to read The Wedding... I read the first chapter and haven't picked it up since... That was about 6 months ago.

Don't get me wrong, the stories are great! But the way he writes them is just... boring.

The Notebook was my favorite book out of all of them, but I agree that the movie A Walk to Remember wa smuch better than the book. The Wedding was great - but it made me feel like my boyfriend is not romantic enough. Haha.

I agree he doesnt have an exciting writing style, but I like how laid-back it is. Its easy reading, and it makes me want to live in a small town near a beach in North Carolina.

Is it just my computer, or is LEIA running really slowly recently?

I thought the book "A Walk to Remember" was so much better than the movie. It made me cry when I read it. I've read so far "The Guardian" "The Notebook" "The Wedding" and loved all of them so far. And to think I live in the same state as such a brilliant author!! He's a great romantic novelist without having a lot of the...um..."graphic" scenes I guess you could say. hehe

And LEIA didn't even work for me yesterday. It wouldn't come up at all. :'( I was really disappointed.

Yeah! It's running really slowly for me too! It's kind of annoying.

Dreamhost is located in LA, which had a total blackout yesterday afternoon. This site and all the other Dreamhost sites were down yesterday for almost 4 hours, and they're still working on things :)

I didn't know The Notebook was from a Nicholas Sparks novel, at least now I know that I can avoid the movie altogether :P Almost all chick flicks stink, and A Walk To Remember stunk horribly. :)

Yeah, it is, too bad I can't fix it :P

I liked A Walk to Remember, the movie, cause..I'm a hopeless romantic. Ouish that sounded sooo dumb..it's the only ever place where I'll admit it :buckt: I'm a sentimental sucker but I border on corny cheesiness. I've never read any of his books but, it seems to get cheesier and cheesier as they go on..like A Walk to Remember was somewhat innocent-ish then The Notebook? I can't believe a guy wrote them haha.

Oh I miss the little drop down button with all the forum shortcuts :( It's very weird without it heh.

I've read "A Walk to Remember" and the "Guardian". I've tried to get ahold of the notebook but I can never find it. :-P I really like his books, and the movies made after them. Unlike most movies made after books they tend to stay pretty close to the book. I also am a big fan of Sarah Dessen. She wrote the books that "How to Deal" was based on. And of course Anne Rice. Wow...wide variety there!

just a little note, don't bring up threads too old and you'll be fine ;)

Ryan, Nicholas Sparks is a writer who's novels have been made into movies. :P
