ok... heres my problem:

i cant figure out how to position pictures NOT in my iframe and then link them to a page i want IN the iframe.

it sounds like you just need to target your links. you would just add target="name of your iframe" to the <a> tag. since your iframe is named inlineframe, your link would look like this:

<a href="page.html" target="inlineframe">Image code or text here</a>
