cPanel help please.

Now, I have creted a file called index.html and I want it too be the first page of my site for eg: index.html needs to be subdomain.domain.com or domain.com not subdomain.domain.com/index.html I want it so that people can visit my website without having to go to example: domain.com/index.html also when I make a file out of the file manager like index.html I go to domain.com (or whatever the websites called)/index.html and its not there its saying it does'nt exist. Does anyone know anything that can be fixed with these problems I have decribed please POST A REPLY. Thanks.

the "index.html" page should be the default page shown when you enter any URL into the address bar.

this...
subdomain.domain.com/
is the same as...
subdomain.domain.com/index.html

this...
domain.com/
is the same as...
domain.com/index.html

if that is not happening, perhaps your host space has a weird setup or something that you need to ask them about.

at this time, you do not have any file called "index.html" in your main directory, thus it shows a listing of your folders and files.

no, there is no "index.html" page.
if you created one, it did not save.
the directories and files only show up when there is no default webpage to show.
