The good news first: I passed my driving test. The testing center I took it at is supposedly the strictest one in the area, and the roads around it are sort of crazy. There are two parts to the state's driving test: a maneuverability part, and the actual road test. I was mostly worried about the maneuverability, but amazingly I did it perfectly. I actually lost my points on the road test. Luckily, I know the area around it because the fencing center's there. But I was driving straight into the sun and there were cars parked all over the place, so the highway patrol officer decided that she'd knock off points because I couldn't see :grouch:

Bad news: I can't drive until I get a car and insurance.

Worse news: I have to reinstall the operating system on this computer because of some problem with Adobe Acrobat that messed everything up.

Drivers tests...:S...all they are is a days worth of stress....i did my written finally 2 days ago...it was terrible first i waited 3 hours to get to do the test...and then i get my test only to find out i got the easiest signs test and the hardest rules test....i could only get 4 wrong...and i didnt know the answer to 6 and thats considering all my other answers were right...well the test took me forever...seeing i was so stressed that i didn't know the answers...then after handing it in...i had to sit in suspense for 15 minutes...then when my sheet is getting marked...the printer jams...just to make the suspense more intese..then i finally get my test...and i was relieved to find out i passed...i was almost certain i failed..then i'm in the parking lot and i figure out where to find my mark and i got perfect on both...all that stress for nothing....but the good news in all of this is...on my eye test they said i didn't have to wear my glasses(which i only use for the board) when driving...:)

But anyway congrats on your test, and good luck with the insurance...in Toronto if your a new driver, you'll probably end up spending your whole paycheck on insurance...if anything mayybe you could put your name as a second driver or something on your parents car

Borrow a car from your family =), thats what i'm going to do.

Well, my parents need both cars because my mom travels a lot, so she has to leave one at the airport.

Actually, my parents just told me: they bought a third car, and are going to give me the older one, which is fine because that's the one I learned to drive. :) Now I just need the insurance and gas money.

And my friend is going to kill me because she's failed the test twice. :dead:

Congrats! And boo to that officer! Pfft.

Yay that you have a car now! :D I'm pretty sure that when I learn to drive I'll have to take my mom's big vehicle used for shipping pretty much everything around and it'll be completely uncool. :buckt: Unless I take it in another way :P

Oh that stinks about your computer! Did you lose your files? :(

I have a similar problem with my license. I can't get a license until we can pay the insurance (which is outrageous), can't get a job with school and after school activities I have to do to get ahead in applying for college, and my parents are on a fixed budget that can't include an extra $1200 a year for our insurance costs. :( really sucks.

Good luck with your PC btw.

Congrats to Owlie! I've driven before, only up the drive way. It didn't go too well. Anyways, my sister has her license, and it was pretty funny driving with her when she had her permit. Once we we're just driving around, and she had to make a U-turn to get home, and she tried to signal (note the "tried") and the windshield wipers came on. :lolo: Man, I won't forget that...

Congrats on passing the test. I don't even have a license... It's been restricted/suspended/revoked for the past 3 years. My probation period is up though. I have to get an SR22, pay DMV a crap load of money, and retake the driving test to get it back.
