Merike 08-30-2005, 01:44 PM As far as I know you can't receive hotmail mails with mail program like outlook unless you have paid account (I believe they call it premium account). Also outgoing server should be found on your internet connection provider's homepage. summergrl164 08-30-2005, 01:46 PM Really? Does yahoo fall under that catagory also? lefty 08-30-2005, 01:49 PM You can use outlook for hotmail. To protect our users from the increasing amount of unsolicited junk e-mail or spam sent from MSN HotmailSympatico Mail accounts through Outlook and Outlook Express, we have reluctantly had to restrict the new use of Outlook and Outlook Express to subscribers. By making this feature part of a subscription, (which requires a user to provide billing information), we can more effectively manage and put a stop to abuse of this functionality, and help protect you and others from unsolicited mail. If you purchase a subscription service such as MSN Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium, you get access to your account from Outlook or Outlook Express, along with many other added features. To see other benefits of upgrading your MSN HotmailSympatico Mail or MSNSympatico/MSN accounts or to create a new subscription account please visit our subscription information page. Rosey 08-30-2005, 07:07 PM I do receive my hotmail through outlook. I don't have a paid subscription or anything, I don't know why. kittycat 08-30-2005, 08:21 PM I do as well only this was in Outlook Express, it had to be set up as an HTTP account instead of POP3. The account I use it under I've had for 5+ years though, maybe that's why? http://www.sniggins.com/receive_hotmail_in_outlook_express.html If you want to try and see if it works |
