Well, last Saturday I launched my model rocket. Its the Estes Snap Shot; it takes pictures when the parachute deploys. So anyways it launched alright, but when the parachute popped out, the camera was already falling, so the parachute didn't get a chance to open up all the way. It did a nice solid landing and broke off a fin. Its ready for launch again now, after a day of gluing and regluing to get the fin on straight. I was wondering if anyone else had a hobby of them. I hope to advance to the HUGE ones, but then I have to get a permit :(

We made little rockets in drafting class. I'm not sure if ours were the same. I didn't get to launch mine because a guy in my class decided to fill his with hairspray and skittles and it broke the little thing that launches them.

I got a rocket thing for Christmas quite a few years ago, but never got around to building it. Just looked at it last year and the stuff to launch it wasn't even included!
I have made/launched pop bottle rockets before, those are kinda fun

I have one that I haven't used a lot. It's also an Estes, I forgot what model though. I got it one year for my birthday when my dad got like the 3 things I showed him I wanted most at the time. After using that one a lot, we finally decided to try a D engine, one of the largest, and we lost it, so I eventually got a new one. I tried to use it once last year but I think the control needed new batteries, I had everything connected right. I was just thinking about using it a few days ago. We have a park across the street in which the only trees are on one side of it, so if I started there and slant it the other way I should have enough room for a B engine, maybe a C...
They certainly are fun though. I did see that camera one but I figured my luck something would happen and it would break...

^^ I've had my fare share of accidents. My first launch ever was with a 4 in mini rocket that I had to build. Something went wrong and it went up 50 feet and then turn a flew away. We think it landing somewhere in the Mini-Golf Course. But then there was that other 4 incher. Poor thing, went up 20 feet and blew up. And I mean BLEW UP. Flames and a small fireball. I don't like the small ones anymore. I've lost over 10 parachutes. They just fly away... And my Snap Shot isn't in the greatest condition ever. I didn't add enough recovery Wadding and the engine burned through the shock cord, detaching the camera/nose cone from the body. The parachute burned off too, so I was chasing the camera, my dad was chasing the parachute (he said after that he thought it was the whole thing) and we eventually found the body. So its in OK condition. I'm going to retire it soon though.
owww poor you...
i'd like to get a model rocket :D

Cool :D Pictures!
It all sounds so..exciting hahah. I've never made any sort of rockets before..I think I want to now. I've made a volcano that was disappointing cause all that came out was pink foam.
