I have just been on hoilday to my grandmas and I was without my PC for a week. So I am making up for lost time now. However i went to manchester <Sp?> and they have these internet boxes a bit like phone boxes but with the internet.

It depends if I am bored or busy as to whether I can cope without net access or not, if i was stuck somewhere dull then i'd miss it like crazy but like...when i went on holiday last month I didn't even give the internet a second thought!

Either you got one POWERFUL (not even on the market yet) wireless router, or you have people around you that have wireless. Those longest you will ever get out of a top of the line wireless router is 100ft at the most. There are people less than 50ft away from me with a 2.4ghz router and i hardly get their signal.
I mean i guess you could have spent thousands of dollars on a tower, but i highly doubt it.
Other than that, laptops are very nice. I wish i had a cheap one to play around in and bring to classes. Next year.
Well, I took my laptop up to a park down the road, at least 250ft away, i could still get 2-1mbps line, but it did cut out occasionally. We live in the countryside, on a hill. Would that explain anything?
We have this device:

It says it works upto 400ft...

I would definitely miss my PC as well (actually, I'd miss Internet access more, but yeah). Thank goodness for my laptop. ;)
