google. google makes quality products and usually has a test period before the product is released. Microsoft on the other hand makes simple and sometimes ineffective products, then releases it as soon after its completed.

I don't understand how you can compare them... google started with a search engine, and Microsoft produces operating systems. Doesn't make sense in my mind.

Though, I hate to admit this but, Yahoo's search engine's becoming really good. I refused to believe it cause I'm pro-Google but my brother proved it :/ C'mon google do your stuffff :P

I think this is a ridiculous poll. How can you compare companies that deal in different things? Microsoft's primary focus is on operating systems, Google's primary focus is on search engines.

If you wanted to compare Microsoft against Google, you should've just said MSN Search vs. Google.

I think you can compare them quiet good. e.g:

MSN/Windows Messenger Vs. Google Talk
MSN Search Vs. Google
Hotmail Vs. Gmail
MSN Search Local Vs. Google Desktop Search
MSN Toolbar Vs. Google Toolbar

According to rumors google is also working on a browser.
I'm sure that M$ feels the heat of Google in their neck. They weren't to amused when google took some ex-top-employees from M$.

i'm a google fanboy :)

Actually, they are extremely comparable. I went for google. Google's search engine is 20X better than msn. Gmail, is EXCELLENT. With hotmail, i get porno spam within 30 seconds of joining.. Google is jsut all around better.

Not only are Google's comparable products better, but the general 'attitude' about them is better too. Google seems to inspire more creativy or something, there's some fun in them (eg Google Moon, the April Fool's drink thing). Microsoft is just boring.
Exzactacally, Google just is just too cool. :P It's fun, yet professionalsh & creative :)

yeah , I have a Gmail account-- can you believe that they increase the amount of space every second + plus hotmail signs you up to anything they get there hands on -- gmail doesn't.

i do have a gmail account
but i also have a hotmail account with 250 MB
i think that far more then enough, i think the space gmail gives is just redicilous.

i choose for "neither"
since i can't use new products of google on my iBook
and i have hardly anything to do with microsoft anymore .. except for MSN

The good thing is, that you never run out of space (2500+MB)! and the mail searching is a great idea.

Yupp and working for them must also be nice. Google employees can spend 10% of their time to projects they may choose their own.

Spot on! The only thing google have ever done wrong was Adsense lol.

Actually, adsense is a brilliant idea. Ads that actually match the content makes you more prone to click clicking on them. What is wrong with adsense?

Any over eager fan, or enemy can have you banned in a instant. Just do a search on it. And they pay pretty bad. TargetFirst.com is WAY better for text ads, with them you get your own account rep and you get paid more providing you send them quality hits.

well if any ads I'd use adsense, also because lissa uses them, and she reccommends them.

I also use Google AdSense. Google AdSense is different from the above ads in that it is text based, and not image based. Google supplies text links on your site that match your content. If you look at the Google ad on the left, you can see an example of content matching. This is a great program because it really finds things that would be interesting and relevant to your visitors, and makes it more likely that they will click on the ads. It helps your visitors and helps your site at the same time.
