I'm going sailing for the first time on Friday :D My mom's ex-boss has a (large) sailboat and he's invited my parents, my sister and I to come along with him and his wife when they go sailing up the coast of B.C. I'll be gone 10 days, 10 days on a boat

Anyways, I'm petrified of getting seasick! I was wondering if anybody here's ever been on a sailboat (or even a long boat trip) and whether you got seasick or what you can do to prevent getting sick in the first place. My mom says you can buy patches that are supposed to help. I've been on a cruise ship a couple of times, but that wasn't too bad....any opinions?

(P.S. I come back the day before school...rude awakening :P)

^ so do I, tho it's more my grandmother :P

I've only gone on a speedboat for a short while and ummm, another boat to go to an island that took 2 hours+. we weren't supposed to enjoy it so the best thing to do was to sleep to avoid seasickness-but that won't help :P it was very choppy the first time but coming back we were okay. :confusion

I think Ayosu_Ling's link would help more than me :D
