I have never had a FTP problem before. See I just got a laptop and I'm in the middle to converting all my lovely webpage files to the laptop. and I can not figure out to save me why it won't allow me to login into my FTP. I mean I have copied the exact info in to create the server and all it says is "Connecting" and it won't make any advancements...it like just freezes like that! ERG please help me figure this out!

If you're using a program, maybe it's the program itself that's buggy. Or maybe you have a firewall and you forgot to connect via passive mode.

Hmm it can't be the FTP program because I use the same program on my normal computer...However I do have Norton Antivirus on my laptop...could that cause it? And if so is their a way to get it to work?

Have you tried connecting in passive mode? You'd have to look through the options of your FTP program to find, the option is also there in IE if you want to use that to connect to FTP (just type ftp.domain.com in the address bar, and a login box will show up for name and password)

Hmm.. I did click 'passive mode' in my FTP..it didn't do anything...hmmm..now going off for a moment. I bought webhosting and I have a cpanel for my site...which I'm completely new to lol! is their way to do webwork in the cpanel without my FTP?

Yes, you can log into cPanel without FTP. If by 'webwork' you mean like transferring files, you might be able to do that in there but I'm not sure, I've never used it before
