Page widths are determined by the screen resolution that the viewer has his or her computer set up for. Most people use a 1024x768 screen resolution, but some others use a 800x600 screen resolution, while some use still an even higher one. So all in all it would be up to you to decide what width you'd want to make the banner.

a 800x600. so what should the banner width be? i mean its size.

That would be up to you. Whatever size you think would fit nicely, make it that size.

here's an idea for you, find a banner you like, right click and save it. Open it in your graphics program & save it in the format for your graphics program. It has now become your template for creating header banners. (photoshop, .psd or paint shop pro, .pspimage, etc.) Then save it again with a # at the end. fill it with what ever color you want and work away. In the future open the one you save in the format for your graphics program add a # the end and create another. And you can do this for any type of banner.

Hope this helps.

for me i want just the banner fits in any screen

Anything below 800 x 600 will fit in any screen then (since 640 res. has really died out).

this symbol # means number.
you save the image, lets say its called banner.jpg
you save it as banner.psd or banner.pspimage or what ever graphics program extention you use. then save it again as banner1.psd or banner1.pspimage, etc. and create away.
