View Full Version : banner width and length friendly37 08-19-2005, 11:32 PM hello everybody well i want to use a picture as a banner. so I want the banner width and length? thank you tokyo bleu 08-19-2005, 11:47 PM Uh, what? It's your banner, go ahead and make it however big you want. friendly37 08-20-2005, 12:01 AM hello I want the picture to extend for the whole width? and a little bit for length.so do you know what size should have? thank you onigiri 08-20-2005, 12:13 AM Whole width? Whole width of what? And "a little bit for length"? What exactly do you mean? friendly37 08-20-2005, 12:31 AM hello i want just to put a picture at the top of my website i want to extend the picture for the whole witdth of the page. how is this done? i mean what is the width of the web page and what is its length? when ?I know this i could try many size that fit what I want? thank you Red_ 08-20-2005, 12:36 AM Page widths are determined by the screen resolution that the viewer has his or her computer set up for. Most people use a 1024x768 screen resolution, but some others use a 800x600 screen resolution, while some use still an even higher one. So all in all it would be up to you to decide what width you'd want to make the banner. friendly37 08-20-2005, 01:07 AM hello if the screen resolution is a 800x600. so what should the banner width be? i mean its size. thanks Red_ 08-20-2005, 03:14 AM That would be up to you. Whatever size you think would fit nicely, make it that size. lanahawke 08-20-2005, 03:19 PM here's an idea for you, find a banner you like, right click and save it. Open it in your graphics program & save it in the format for your graphics program. It has now become your template for creating header banners. (photoshop, .psd or paint shop pro, .pspimage, etc.) Then save it again with a # at the end. fill it with what ever color you want and work away. In the future open the one you save in the format for your graphics program add a # the end and create another. And you can do this for any type of banner. Hope this helps. ~Lana~ friendly37 08-20-2005, 09:46 PM hello you said to me "Then save it again with a # at the end". i dont understand what do you mean by the end? and what is this symbol. I mean for what reason? please explain the why for that I doin't really get your idea. for me i want just the banner fits in any screen thanks tokyo bleu 08-20-2005, 09:59 PM for me i want just the banner fits in any screen Anything below 800 x 600 will fit in any screen then (since 640 res. has really died out). lanahawke 08-20-2005, 10:37 PM this symbol # means number. you save the image, lets say its called banner.jpg you save it as banner.psd or banner.pspimage or what ever graphics program extention you use. then save it again as banner1.psd or banner1.pspimage, etc. and create away. Zarkis 08-21-2005, 02:53 AM I make banners and I always use about these dimensions, but still your creating it make it how you want. -700X100 pixels -100X700 pixels -500X90 pixels I just go by what exactly im putting on them and stuff, you can see mine on my website, Im not sure what size that is... im pretty sure its a 770X100 pixels. hope this tiny little bit helped |
