I'm wondering if anyone knows where i can get a webjournal for my website.
since i don't know how to make one of my own, i'm planning to get one of those where i get two seperate pages: one is where i can put the entry and the other one is to show the entries.. it's pretty much like a guessbook. i'm just wondering if anyone knows any that doesn't have banners or ads.

thankx

bad news with your recommendation

my webserver/hoste
only support ftp, cgi/perl, on the premium service
which mine is a normal free service so it does not support any of those

http://www.deadjournal.com
http://www.livejournal.com

The first two are free, the second two aren't.

Hmm...you HAVE replaced the 'manual' part with a number '1', right?

Otherwise, I dunno. I'd ask them about it...

I really like Diaryland. It's www.diaryland.com.

It's free to use (unless you want to pay for premium membership - which i do use and love)...and there arent any ads on your blog.

Good luck ;)

well, i did replace the manual with 1
the problem i'm having with are the templates
i've asked them before and they gave me a default template
but it still doesn't work
when i paste the template to my web
all i keep getting is the 404 error page when ever i hit the summit button

You don't have to pay for diaryland. It's a free service unless you want premium membership. I pay for the premium membership, but a normal membership (which you don't have to pay for) has almost the exact same advantages as the paying membership. When you sign up it is completely free and doesn't have any ads on the diary whatsoever. Diaryland was made and owned by a guy named Andrew, who is also the owner and creator of Pitas.

You also don't need to download anything to use it.

Hope this helped!

is there any ads on blinkster? if not i should try to use blinkster instead cuz freewebz is kinda a ripoff even though it's free,
it states stuff for the free service which doesn't provide
and there's only a limite of files that you can upload and create in there

freewebs is really slow.. when ur downloading files from a freewebs site is goes much slower then all the other sites. i don't have a host yet, im gonna use dreamhost i think. i've been making the site on my comp.

brinkster has no ads, very fast browser uploading (i think it has FTP) and has a very good fast file manager. it doesnt (free accounts) have CGI-BIN or perl or fancy stuff like that, but it gives you alota space, and compared to FreeWebz it really kix :D

brinkster has a bandwidth limit.

EmpTcaN
06-15-2003, 02:24 AM
well, it's obvious that most free services are bandwidth limited those who put unlimited must have some catch to it

but thanks for the heads up on blinksters i'll go check it out

edit: is it just me or is it the server blinkster is down?
i've try to check out the site but it doesn't seem to work

edit:never mind it works

sebluver
06-17-2003, 02:13 AM
It's just a guestbook! How much CAN it support?

signmyguestbook is definately the best, most customizable, free-est guestbook there is.

The only ad is the text link at the bottom that says:
get your own guestbook at SignMyGuestbook.com
DiaryLand diaries - NotifyList mailing lists - Pitas weblogs

well, if you must know i prefer the more the better...
as i assume that everyone would surely agrees with me on this, that if they had a choice, of course they will choose the more advanced over the less.
INFACT!! if i have a choice, i would want my guests to be able to buld mini games into my gbook so my other guests can play, and while at it, those guests can create THEIR own minigames and play at the same time.

does that answer your question?
