I just bought a domain but am absolutely clueless as to how to host people's sites on a sub-domain. How do I set it up? And how do I know if they have seperate cgi and all that?

check or search the HELP or FAQ or SUPPORT area of your host. it should have something about subdomains there. if not send them an email regarding the issue. each host is a bit different on how things are setup.
