Is there any way to fade from an image into a solid color (see image below)? And how do I do the pixelization effect like in the image below? Are both of these possible in psp7?

you can fade to a solid color the same way you would make a blend:

1) start out with your image
2) then make a new raster layer on top of it
3) color in the part of the image that you want to fade to the color in w/ the color you want it to be in that new layer
4) make sure the layer is still selected. then choose the eraser tool and set the opacity at like 5 or 10 percent.
5) then start erasing part of the color in the raster layer to make the picture fade into the color. you can set the opacity of the eraser to whatever percent you want.

then the pixelate effect is in the "distortion effects" section in effects. the person made the pixelation look really light by duplicating the image, applying the effect to the duplication, and then adjusting the opacity.

i hope that helped!

I tried that before and it messed the image up but then I just followed what salome said and got it. Thanks to both of you.
