I need a good graphics program to use. I heard that Photoshop is good and lots of people use it. How would I get it though? And is there a better program?

Well, in my opinion Jasc Paint Shop Pro is better than Adobe Photoshop, but they are both quite expensive.

A good (free) graphics program is GIMP.

photoshop=better if you want to have more control, if youre more advanced, or if you like to "explore" and dont mind spending time learning

psp=very powerful for much less than photoshop. you can do pretty much all of the same stuff but not all of it. It's easier to learn to use for a newbie, too. The "pros" use photoshop but you can make absolutely amazing stuf with psp and no one would ever know if you were using photoshop or psp.

And actually, psp is only $100USD Thats really not much considering that its a pretty awesome graphics tool.

Just try the trials and see what you like, but hopefully this helps.

Like Chris said, the GIMP is a free, very good program. I actually prefer it over Photoshop. You can download it here: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

Sorry, I should have posted a link to where you could get it. I apologise.

photoshop isn't better then psp, psp isn't better then photoshop
if you have zero skills, then an expensive program won't make it all for you anywayz :)

you gotta learn it. if you learn allot and enough things you can make as beautiful images with The Gimp as with Photoshop.

the "pros" use photoshop to save it in .eps format (wich is needed to print the logo into a flyer or whatever) .. that's all there is to it really ..

i made amazing things (i myself found them amazing back in those days!) with PSP, but because i got Photoshop for free on my new laptop and had to learn it for school, it's all i use now (and i can't use PSP on this laptop anywayz) .. but much difference? nope, it's all about skills ! if YOU can't make it, then the program will neither ..

Well, the problem with that, especially the PSP vs. PS issue is that the opinions are always redundant.

In my opinion it has to be Photoshop. It's generally a better/easier program to learn.

PSP tends to crash randomly for a lot of people.
PSP makes you jump through hoops as opposed to PS's clean interface...

You know I can't really say anything good about PSP. It's harder to learn and overall it's a badly made program. It's cheaper than PS so just remember, you get what you pay for.
