MaGiCSuN 05-30-2003, 12:40 PM if you design your layout in 800x600 then the layout offcourse looks best in 800x600, and mostly also above. Just make sure you don't align things to the right that dont have a table around it. Like if you around a picture to the right it will be to the whole right, but if you align a picture in a table to the right it will only go to the right till the border is there from the table. The first picture will go waaaay to the right in bigger resolutions, so you have a big change that i will go outside your designed layout. That's why people recommend divs, so you can 'package' everything so it won't go outside the lines you have given the div. Basically if your webpage is designed, and you want to see how it looks in 1024x768 then go to start > settings > configuration > screen and click on the tab "settings" and change your settings from 800x600 to 1024x768. Now view your layout and look if it fits. if not change it in this resolution so you are sure it will work. You can easily change back to 800x600 by doing the same as above. This is how i always test my layouts :) But after all, it's your page so you are able to do with it what you want. if you design a layout for 1024x768 it's probably the best to allow a scrollbar, so that 800x600 visitors will be able to see the whole page.
