what do you mean by Java program?

there are a lot of programs *written* in Java...

if you're talking about the Java plugin for your browser to be able to see Java applets, you'll most likely need to download it from http://www.sun.com

however, JavaScript is more accurately described as a scripting language- since it cannot be used to write applications. :)

Hey Everyone, (SClubtribute)

Well I got my Java Program to work now. I think anyways. But I need alot of help with my Internet Explorer. SClubtribute I tried doing what you said but it didn't help. :( I also keep get'n something about a proxy server. I don't even think I use one. But I think it's wanting me to set my proxy server settings. But I don't know where I do that at?? All I need is for my internet explorer to work. How hard could it be lol. ~.~ Very hard I suppose. Its driving me insane. I know more Ram for my computer would help cause I only have 63.0mb and lots of graphics, games, and programs like AOl and PSP7 on here. But I can't afford any right now. So I'm try'n to fix my Internet Explorer to see if it helps. Well hope someone out there knows more about it then I do. If so thanks for any help, and for just replying. I gotta go talk to you all later.

Misty

P.S. I don't wanna be a Pee-Wee lol. How do you get that changed to?? ^.~

if you can't run applets then you most likely need the jvm. here's the link http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html just click on 'download' and you'll be taken to a page that does a test. if you can see the applet then you won't need the jvm 'cos you already have it.

for you're ie try going to 'tools' --> 'internet options' --> 'connections' tab --> 'lan settings' and make sure that 'proxy server' is NOT checked. you can also try the 'advanced' tab and scroll down to 'http1.1 settings' make sure you have 'use http1.1' checked and NOT 'use http1.1 through proxy connections'.

Hey people well I look at my lan settings and amicus said to do. But it still didn't work. It still says Can Not Find Server. :( I've tried everything but I still don't know what to do. Ugh I hate my computer. What stinks is I don't have the money to get it fixed. I wish I could get a new one. :( Oh well if anyone has anymore ideas for me let me know please. Thanks. Talk to you all later. [QUOTE] "I live in my own little world....But its ok everyone knows me here" -Now & Zin

did you see the test applet when you went to the java.sun site? i'm assuming you can get to other sites. if you can still get to the internet then it's probably not 'not find server'.

can you post the url that your trying to get to. it might not be your machine if you can get to other sites. it may just be that the class file is in the wrong location. if that's the case then no body can get to it.
