Gimp won't let me open another file type for some reason, i try to open another file type like .jpg, nor .bmp, but it says "jpeg.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The funny thing is it is only like this when i open images that i got from freephoto.com do you guys know why?

Are you sure they are named **.jpeg or **.bmp ? (** being its name)
Also, make sure that you have no other file up. Really I don't know why this is happening...

Maybe.. are you click OPEN or OPEN LOCATION? Make sure you don't click OPEN LOCATION.
