There aren't any free ones out there. Some trial versions you can get are:

Although, if you can get the money, try buying an Flash with an education discount. It's $100 but it's still better than 4 or $500. :)

I can get practically any software freefrom my school. They have millions of softwares, all educationals. When you have an educational one (school) than the school is legally allowed to give copies to students.

do the programs take up a lot of room?

The full version is about 40 megs. I'm not sure about the download, it is probably slightly less. :confusion

I recently got a new Flash program.
Before I was using CoffeeCup FireStarter, but the whole "created with CoffeeCup Freeware" message was annoying, so I got SWiSH. It rocks, layout is a lil diff, but basicly same as FireStarter's.

and look under Design tools, then flash or w/e, then sort by most downloaded, and its one of the top like 10.
