When I try to save images(mainly glitter pics) on my computer it always wants to save in the .BMP format...it wont give me the choice of saving it in .gif or .jpg..and if i save it in the .BMP format it will not be animated anymore... can someone please help me???

Clear your internet files. If you're using IE:

go to Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Delete Files...

old pc's don't support the jpg and gif in paint (i assume it is paint) try installing some graphics programs, they might contain the files for those formats ...

Maybe those type of images can only be saved as a BMP file. I know with some images you can only save them as one type of image. Hmmm if it's animated though it should be a gif...hm I'm stumped too :idea:

are you sure your temp files are all cleared?
go to start > programs > accesoires > system tools > disk clean up
and do a disk clean up there aswell ... clean up your Bin to make sure aswell ...

after that do a start up or refresh the page a couple of times.
Or to do it properly, close your internet browser and start it up again ...

Also, if your computer has a virus or a non tested stupid windows update that probably screwed up the files. Are you sure the program is recognising it? Did you modify the .REG files on your PC? 'cos those probably tell paint or whatever that that format exists. One other thing: I have windows 2000 professional on my borrowed laptop, and it doesn't recognise GIF and JPG in paint, only BMP and DIB. I have to use Corel Photo-Paint to open them. One small question: If you go into Start > Documents > Pictures > and their might be a sample pictures folder. Open it up, when you select them, on that sidebar in windows explorer, does it say: JPEG Interchange File Format? If it does then your registry is probably not screwed up :) I can't offer more ideas, or fixes, i'm stumped. :sad:

if you have the first version, then bad luck, this is a comon problem.

ITS FIXED!!!!!!!!! IT WAS MY TEMPORARY FILES...I DID THE DEFRAGMENT, DISK CLEAN UP AND NOW I CAN SAVE MY FILES...THANKS U GUYS!!! :) :) :)

oh thats what i'm having trouble with, i can't save any pictures from google or webshots.. so i think i'll try the disk cleanup. ^,^
