Ok i dont really know how to explain this and im not really expecting an answer...but images appear much darker than they are on my computer, so much so that i have to actually take something into psp and lighten it before i can even work out what it is, i thought it was my monitors brightness settings but i finally found the switch thing so i could change it and it makes no difference to actual images....so im just wondering if anyone knows if theres any setting on my comp i could play with to try fix it...or any reason why its happening?

Take this for example

To me thats almost pure black, just a little shadowing on it...but i know its not meant to look like that!

Well, I can see the picture just fine, and it's not dark at all.

The monitors brightness settings are usually two buttons that are right on the computer, and that ususually makes it brighter or darker. I guessing that you have tried those, so I'm wondering if it's just the pictures, or the whole screen that is darker, and plus has it always been like this? A kid on my street, who is a friend of mine, builds computers, and if you can't figure out what's wrong, I'll ask him what the problem could be.

Its been like this for a few months, i assumed id just accidentally messed with the brightness 'button' but i could never actually find it on my monitor to move it back lol finally i found it the other day but it doesnt make a difference, it makes my monitor brighter but the images just stay the same! and yeah, it does seem to be just images...everything else seems alright! its really bugging me now!

What kind of computer do you have? If possible, find your computer's makers website, and tell them about this problem. They should be able to know what the problem is.

it's a little on the dark side for my taste but i think that's just the monitor. a lot of times image quality is determined by the users machine. it's a combination of the monitor, video card, color settings, refresh rate, brightness and what nots.

you can lighten it up but then it might be to bright for someone else. there's really not much you can do to it. it's a user thing.

what about your picture tube in your moniter?? Could it be something internal like that, maybe?? How old is your moniter?

That might be it....mine shows dark lines all over the thing because it's old and on its way out.

Could also be the contrast settings.......

If your browser is old, the tube could be completely dying and you might need a new one.
