Now, how do I make a poll and is it possible to have it on free hosts like geocities, angelfire and so on?

You would need a database of some sort, meaning youy would need PHP or MySQL. Geocities doesn't have them. Check angelfire but i am not sure. I think brinkster supports it. That is free.

Well, I know that Sparklit (http://www.sparklit.com) has polls that you can create, and you don't need anything special, just a website, because they provide you with the script for the code. I use it for all of my polls, and it works beautifully.
