I have a hostee and she is taking up an enormous amount of bandwith. 50 MB. I only get 200 MB and I would like the majority of it for myself and my family's site ( as it will be huge). I have asked her twice to reduce her site to a smaller one, and she has, but I would still like it a little smaller. How should I go about asking her this? I don't want to be rude, but I really need her to limit her space.

if you're only getting 200 MB of bandwidth, you need a new host :P

are you talking about bandwidth or disk space? I looking up the WHOIS record for your domain and saw that it's hosted on DreamHost- they're smallest plan has 20 GB of bandwidth and 200 MB of disk space.

if she's using that much disk space, tell her to cut down because that is tons. what does she have on her site? she must have a HUGE site or tons of big graphics or something. if its graphics, tell her to delete them or use an image optimizer to make them smaller. also, although it really depends on your control panel's capabilities, you should be able to set the amount of space she's allowed. try poking around in the settings for the users on your account.

if your hostee direct links any js or image, i suggest you put a .htaccess on your site. you can learn it here: http://www.lissaexplains.com/html6.shtml#direct

ur hostee's site must be HUGE if they use that much disk space! Take a look at her site, and see what can be done without. Then, politely tell her/him the prob and ask them to cut down a little. Then you need to go through your site and see if you could do the same. Compressing images is a great way to start!

i just went to your website and looks like you are letting the visitors direct link at your 'link me' section. Please put up a content that says 'Upload your own server' or something like that...

yup...direct linking is a HUGE problem...eats up a lot of bandwidth...to stop it you might want to do this no direct linking code...it's on jennyspage.net under "tutorials" if you want...i think you should explain to the hostee nicely about how you need a lot of the space for your site...:)
