Hi, I've been having a problem with a message that keeps popping up whenever I get online. Almost every time I'm on the Internet, I get a message that says this, "Runtime Error! PROGRAM: C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call". Does anybody know what this is and how I can fix it? It might be because our computer is almost 3 years old, and we need a new one. We have Windows 98 SE, a Gateway computer, and the version for Internet Explorer is 6.0.2800.1106. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks!

it might be because you're trying to run ie 6 with windows 98. win98 doesn't do well with ie 6. you may have to just bite the bullet and go back to ie 5.5

I have Windows 98 and IE 6.0 and I don't have any problems.

try running the Fix Internet Explorer utility by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs -> find IE and click Add/Remove, then select Fix IE. if that doesn't work (and IE 6.0 has worked for you in the past- if this did not start happening as soon as you upgraded) you could try re-downloading and re-installing IE.

I tried going to the Control Panel and in the list for the Add/Remove Programs thing, there was no IE thing. It just said Internet 404. Is that it? Or something else?

I don't think so.

have you looked under both Internet Explorer and Microsoft Internet Explorer?

Oh, yeah. :) *smiles sheepishly*

I'll try that. Hopefully it'll work... If not, I'll be back...

I also just noticed that it always did it while I was in my Hotmail account. But anyway, I did what you said and I've been to Hotmail about 4 times since then and no problems. So, thanks a million! I really appreciate it! Thanks again. :)

Actually, scratch that last reply. It just did it while I was in my FreeWebs.com account. I don't know what's wrong with it. I think my computer is just old and needs an upgrade. I guess I'll just live it, but thanks for your help anyway. I appreciate it. -Megan
