I have a background on my xanga that doesn't really let you see the entries. I was wondering if you could change the color behind the entries, but keep the background the same.

above the box where you enter the URL of your bg pic, you have to select 'transparent'. Likewise, this is how you make your left side modules transparent

I made them transparent, but I see the background through the entry still.

Oh, sorry, I was telling you to do the exact opposite of what you wanted. Sorry...mindblank for a second there. Select a color that you want to be behind your entries. It should work.

I selected white.. and it's still transparent
