For some reason, my computer refuses to save downloaded GIFs, even animated ones, as GIFs. In fact, it saves all images as bitmaps. Anyone know why, and more importantly, how to solve it?

That happened to me a few weeks ago i cleaned out my cookies and it was back to normal again.. but i dunno if thats the answer.

that happens to me too :( i don't know why but it's really irritating. i usually just save the entire page to the desktop and get the images that way.

It is :) bet you cant view source either can you? Just clear out your cookies/temp files and history and things should work again!
Warning: It will probably take a while, best to do it then go away and leave your comp for a while.

PS=I think I forgot how to do that...

well..im on XP, not sure if its the same for others but i guess so?
tools > internet options > in the general section > delete cookies and delete files.

I tried that...it's still on a bitmap thing...
