Who here, that has under 500 posts, has been thinking about and/or designed an avatar? I already have mine done; although I might change after I can get GIMP to quit giving me errors (I made it with paint and a couple of sketches).

Hehe, I think I planned mine. Even now, I usually have an idea of what I'd like as my next avatar. (But right now, I'm already missing Snape...)

I have mine done. I've had it done for a long time; it'll just be one of the ones I use already on MSN.

I make avatars all the time, it wasn't really 'planned', so I'll use one of those when I'm eligible.

I like to make a bunch of avatars and change them once in a while, also my online buddies make them for me too. :) My first avatar here I believe was Chester Bennington from Linkin Park (gawd he used to be so cute!) :P heheh

How do u have an avatar if you havn't got 500 posts? I joined before you, and you needed 500 posts at that time.

there was a very short time when the minimum was reduced to 50... if you were here first, did you miss that time? (it was really short... probably not more than a week or two?)

I thought 500 would never come, mostly because my mom kept kickin' me off, but I'm almost to 300 now YAY! Mine IS larger than 75x75, I'll have to shrink it...

For this particular forum, I believe that post count is determined more by how many threads one can reply to rather than how much time one spends on here. It is themed, after all.

Why the 500 post rule anyway?

Bandwidth, I'd assume.

It's also a kind of "reward" for those that are helpful and have been around a while, as opposed to anyone just signing up and taking up space.

What's even better is those that get 500 posts, put up an avatar, and disappear :rolleyes: Then again, they were probably annoying anyway if they just posted for the avatar.
