Can anyone tell me how to do scanlines on gimp?
I've read a few tutorials, all saying the same thing.
They're not very clear and mine never works out like it should.
They say to make a image 1px by 2px. then pains one px black, keep one white, save it in patterns directory as scanlines.pat.
then they say get your image.
i do that fine.
then they say make another layer, and choose the scanlines pattern, where does it say what pattern to choose on the new layer menu?????

and when i do use the pattern, from a different menu, my whole image just goes black.

If you get a solid black image, then you may not be at full size.

When putting the lines over the top, make sure your fill/layer type is set to Multiply. Soft Light works as well.

Same method except you'll need a 3x3 image with the black pixels going through the middle.
