I really wanna make cool like colored and just black and white stripes for background and in blog areas and such. anyone got any good tutorials or can anyone tell me how to do that?

Ok, to get it black and white, go into Images>>Greyscale
Then to get the stripe affect go into Effects>>Texture Effects>>Blinds
Then you can set the properties to how you like :)
