View Full Version : Lack of Web Designing. *sigh*

This isn't a rant, but...yeah... I'm having web design withdrawls.

I recently got my first job, and with my first job, comes a lot less time to do fun stuff...and that pretty much means that any hope of designing a nice website has gone down the tubes, especially since I can barely keep up with my blog. I could probably keep up with a crappy one, but I've had crappy ones in the past and I got sick of crappiness.

I find it depressing...but then maybe I'm just way addicted to my computer.

i know how you feel. you have a layout up forever and you get sick of it, and then you can't do anything better so it starts to make you mad LOL! don't worry, you'll get it. one day a wave of inspiration will hit you and you'll go with it and make something great! =)

That sucks :( I know what you mean, though. I have finals coming up in June, and a bunch of end of the year projects. But I can't sit here doing webdesign when the time comes, because it's senior year and I can't risk that... And I'll have a job soon after graduation, so that's going to really cut into my webmastering.

Same with what Lindsay said. The thing about my current situation with one of my sites is that I've had an idea for a new layout for quite a few months now, lol; I just haven't had the time to do it. I've had my current layout up since early Feb., and I'm sick of it. When I don't like my layout, I can't work on a site. Even though a site's all about content, I can't work on it if I know the basis of my site looks like crap.

Anyway, AiJahya, I'm sure you can still do a really good website, you just have to do it more slowly with your new job in mind. When I get really busy, I just try to fit in some design when I get the chance. Even when I'm in class and get done with work early, I may get my webdesign notebook out and write down a few ideas for content, draw up some layout designs, or write a few tutorials. :D

especially since I can barely keep up with my blog.

Ah you shouldn't care so much about that :) I was once like that aswell, thinking i had to update atleast once a day so that people wouldn't wonder "where is she?" when i didn't updated (like IF people even thought that haha) ... Update when you feel like it, it also in my opinion gives better results.

I often see people's blogs like "didn't do anything today, it was boring. Okay got nothing to blog about so bye!" ... They just want to blog although they have nothing to say. Then just don't blog for a week! big deal! the more you have to say in your next blog :)

Remember it's your site, not the site from the visitors that visit you :) You can do whatever you want to do with it!

[Were allowed to say 'crappy' but not d*mmit? O__o!]

Umm, they are two completely different words.. if you said one versus the other in high school, which one would get you in trouble more? :P

And don't try to get around the curse word filter, that's not allowed on the accessible-by-guests part of the forum :P

CRAP IM SORRY I JUST DELETED YOUR WHOLE POST :(
I meant to reply, I guess I hit the far-away edit button. Geez, I feel stupid now. I'm sorry :( Sorry again, btw :(

Thanks guys. :)

I have no idea what I'm going to do with...well...any of my web stuff right now... I played around with some CSS last night, but couldn't come up with anything... It's so frustrating when you want to do something, but neither have the time nor the ideas to do it. And then, in the forseeable future, you have no time whatsoever. Next year is senior year, which is going to be totally taken up with scholarship applications and trying to find a college...and school...and trying to make money so I can go to college...then I'll have a life after that. (Or, maybe a semi life).

Ah, well. Working on something slow'll work fine, too. I stress way to much about the future.... bleh...
