How many GB of hard drive space do you have on it?

Does it have Windows XP?

How many MB of RAM?

How many GHz do the CPU have?

Does it have speakers?

ow god i need to say this:

GHZ DON'T COUNT.

its intel who started with the how more ghz how better. and now they can't produce chips faster then 3.8 GHz they stopped with it. you will see that future chips will be more like the pentium M. (although the first dual cores, the smithfield will be based on the prescott). I hope that you understand that an AMD 3500+ @ 2.2 GHz is at least even fast as a p4 3.4 GHz. the pentium 4 architecture has a very low Instruction per clockcycle. AMD chips do more with less GHz.

i just needed to get this of of me.
prolly you don't even care but i can't stand it when people think that more ghz is always better.

ugh

Congrats on the new computers starlet !!!
it's beautiful :) got a matching monitor with it or ? :P

No but i want to prevent that people think that an amd with a lower Ghz is nog equal to a p4 with a higher ghz. why? because i want that AMD gets more customers.

most people only know intel... too bad :x

nvm it all :P
i shouldn't post it but i couldn't resist

Ah you bunch of spoil sports, you are meant to drool at the pinkness...not worry about the spec

I don't even the know spec, it's better than my old computer that's all i know! I shall ask Gav tonight, though i'm sure it won't be enough to make you geekish lot jealous!

GHZ DON'T COUNT.

you should have re-worded your post to say that intel vs. amd GHz is not better or whatever... because anyone who doesn't know anything about computers is going to look at you like "What the heck are YOU talking about?" because yes, GHz DOES matter... I have a 899MHz processor and yes a GHz processor would make quite a difference.

How'd u make xxx Starlet appear at the bottom of all the pictures you took? I'm guessing you take all of your pictures with a webcam ;)

starlet

Yeah, its just the overlay/caption on my webcam software (Conquercam)

Heres the spec...

1GB ram isn't a luxure if you are photoshopping and doing other stuff at the same time. swapping isn't a nice experience ><

Is that a lot? I honestly know nothing about comps, i don't know what is good and what isn't lol
The graphics card is pretty old according to Gav....*checks message history*...Getforce2 GTS

don't you mean it *is*? i do lots of multimedia on my system (3d studio, flash, photoshop, illustrator, etc.) and i only have 512MB of ram... i could on WISH I had 1 GB of ram.

I have 1 GB, and I really don't game. but it is nice for doing a lot of things at once, or using things like MATLAB or Maple- software I have to use for school that are fun to play with :P Well, not Maple (horrible stuff), but MATLAB is- I've managed to break some computers in the classroom because I was trying to do some ridiculous calculations and graphing or millions of data points and the CPU/RAM just couldn't take it- it just sat there for ages, and I just had to restart because it stopped responding (task manager is disabled, which is bad because then you also lose things you've saved because the image of the hard drive is retrieved over the network every time it boots). on my laptop, it's fine :P

we don't have to argue but this is a discussion forum where you discuss things and I would like to know why you think that RAM is not important?

you don't understand me.
i mean..
that..
1GB RAM is not luxurous, its a must-have if you do a lot of things at the same time, and some heavy programs.
in this way you can see 2GB as luxurous.
something that you can't mis is mostly not luxurous in my opinion

you're right, i did misunderstand what you were saying. the way that you worded the orginal statement made it seem like it was a typo... and then it sounded like you were saying RAM doesn't matter. sorry!! =)

593?? I thought you could only have multiples of 64...

Dude128
04-16-2005, 05:35 PM
it only has to be a power of 2- so it could be a stick of 512 MB, one 64, and one 16 or something, +/- 1 because it's never exact.

Exactly. I have 2GB and I can have like 100's of Mozillas open if I need to, but why would I? I suggest the 512 mb or 1 GB, the 2GB is pretty useless.
