if i have a psd that has image map on it where would i host it?

Hmm, what are your purposes for the .PSD? Are you offering it as a download or something?

If you plan on actually using it, it needs to be in a general image format, like .GIF, .PNG, or .JPEG...

yeah but it wont let me save it in that format! It only lets me save it in .psd

are you using imageready? because if you are then what you should do is save the image in photoshop without the image mapping as a GIF or JPG or some other general format and host that image.

then in imageready after you have done the image mapping click on the little internet explorer icon in the left toolbar... it will give you the code for the image mapping. put this code in your html and then simply change the image path to the one you hosted.
