Does anyone here has the Samsung E330? I have a few questions about them that i really can't find on the internet:

- can i block the camera key on the side of the phone? When i have the phone in my pocket it takes photographics of the inside of my pocket :stickout:
- Can i receive ringtones from someone else? like if my friend would send me a ringtone, am i being able to save it on my phone? i'm a bit dissapointed by the ringtones samsung has ...

I'm having major problems with WAP, i can't connect .. no matter what i do. I don't need it that much, but i want a few ringtones and the only way to get them are through WAP. blah !

I do know by now that the problem is because i have the same SIM-card and on my old phone i used I-mode, and because i now want to use WAP these problems occur even if i have the proper settings set.

Forget about the WAP thing, you guys can't even help with that because i have a dutch subscription :P

I am asking the ringtone question because my friend has prepaid, and i don't want her to sent me stuff that i can't even use, because she has to pay for it ! (i have subscription, so i have so many minutes to use a month)

i have the d500 and i can't get the wap to work either,i have the vodaphone 150 thing,i know it has something to do with that,not the phone itself

my picture button is locked,i think there is something in the menu for it
yes,you can recieve ringtones and pictures from others.

yeah .. it says it can wap, and i have found many people online that have the same problem asked, but never have gotten an answer :S Do you also get the error:

fout: netwerk niet beschikbaar

and i have altell and i cant download ringtones off the internet only on altell and all the altell ringtones on their site are awful!

My auntie got me a samsung E700,

my WAP doesnt work either (on orange its free untill end of march)
is the networks problem or samsung?

i have a samsung, not a nokia. I know what kind of ringtones nokia has, have been a true nokia fan for years. But now i don't have a nokia i have a samsung with some questions.

You don't have to get it, that's the beauty of a forum. You don't need to answer each question, you don't need to get all the stuff.

edit: reddragon i dunno, i know somewhat where my problem is. I used to use i-mode, but now i switched my SIM-card to another phone ( so different phone, same SIM card) and that probably is the problem. I do however have the proper settings for it ... weird stuff ...

mirna,i get that error too,i know it has to do with my cheap monthly payment,well...cheap....not really...

you don't have bluetooth so if you need to transfer your photo's to your pc,just buy a datacable,they're about 25 euro's at dixons.

do you know how to use your flashlight? yes,you have one,go to your picture settings and press "make a picture",then press 0 and off you go.

i will check out the wap/gprs tonight,gotta go to work again.

that depends on your subscription ... and if you have prepaid it here in holland depends if you have i-mode or not since MMS is a kind of email thing that sends your photo's. Not all phones allow that (even if they have MMS, since the same phone get's used with a subscription that does supports it)

My subscription only gives me callminutes and SMSminutes (text messages). I could also choose MMS with it, but i never use it, so it really depends on what your subscription is (if you have one).

ah thanks ! I had it on "automatic" becauase i couldn't figure out how to do it manually :D However it IS annoying that that sound is still on ... on my siemens i could turn the sound of the camera off without having to set the whole phone on "silent". but then again you can't have everything :P

my wap/gprs is still not working,i do get the samsung club thingie on my screen but when pressing something it give a 4400d error of some kind.

the camera click can't be turned off by itself,i know,it is pretty annoying.

the blue tooth is fast too,got 30 pics and 4 mp3's from my pc to my phone in less than 5 minutes.

I even used this site from KPN that contains new WAP settings, but offcourse it doesn't have them from samsung e330. Then i saw that all samsungs had Port 8080, while i had port 9202 (i believe, could be 9102 aswell.. something along those lines) .. so i changed it, but no luck.

Then i tried this other site, wich sent me the information through an SMS "serverbericht". I saved the settings, but no luck either...

It's not a big "thing", but it would be nice to get 2 or 3 new ringtones that i also had on my siemens (not the same file offcourse, but to download the same tune) since the samsung ones don't really impress me that much .. (or maybe i'm just picky hahaha)

it would be really weird if you couldn't use WAP with a subscription ... since few years ago i had a nokia 3310 and with prepaid I could even WAP ..

i mean the "I" button yes,weird you get that message,is there anything in your contract that says you would have a working grps/wap?

i also have a problem sending a sms to sheila's phone,i can't put text in and also,where can i tell the phone to send it too? well i will find that out anyways.

i asked one of my collegues at work today who has a e820 and another kit who HAS a e330 and both said that you have gprs/wap...so i don't know.
