Just trying to get a feel for what the most commong resolutions are......please answer the poll. =) I use 1280 x 1024

I use 1024x768 now. Before I used 800x600. To me, it doesn't really matter.

Resolution never used to be an issue for me because my old computer could only do 600 x 800 and 800 x 600 (sadly)....this one is awesome though and can even make me breakfast (yeah, I wish)...so now it makes a difference to me. Just trying to get a feel for what is common though.

I always use 800x600, and my biggest pet peeve is if someone makes their website with 1024x768, not even bothering to consider that not everyone uses that.

I use 800x600. The only thing that bothers me is when I go on sites meant for 1024x768 resolution people, and I'm staring at an image thinking Well where's the content? for a few minutes, until I realize that I have to scroll down. I REALLY hate it when you have to scroll using the scroll bar instead of the scroll thing on the mouse. That bugs me.

I spent my first 2 years online at 640x480 (yes you heard me)...id never even seen anything different, then i got my new comp and went straight to 1024 x 768, you'd think it would drive me insane going on such a huge change, but it didnt. Dont think ive ever bothered with 800x600!

1024 x 768 most times, unless I'm on the other computer with 800x600. Very glad I changed the resolution on this PC, 800x600 gives me a headache.

i like the itty bitty screen mode!!

I use 1024x768, my monitor is a 17" or is it 16", I would only use 800x600 if your monitor is 16" or less. Even on my 19" I use 1024 x 768

Ummm, I'm not sure. How do you find out what your resolution is. All I know is that mine is big, I just don't know exactly what that means.

Wow.......640 x 480. I don't think I even had a computer when that resolution was standard. That must have hurt eyes a LOT.

I love using a really high resolution (I use 1280 x 1024) but how good it looks all depends on your graphics card and your monitor size.

Right click on your desktop, click properties, click settings and it tells you and you can change it in there.

If you are using Windows, right click on your desktop, click properties, and then the settings tab on the top.

Oh, thank you. I have 1024 x 768. Since from what I know, that's pretty big :stickout:, what's the biggest, what's the smallest, and what resolution is the most common on the web?

Not trying to re-ask the question, sorry if it looks that way.

I think the biggest is like 1600x1200 or soemthing like that and the smallest is 320x240? The most common would probably be ...urgh.... welll... 800x600 or 1024x786. Whenever I create websites I make the width just a little bit over 700.

My site is ^^^^^^ on big resolutions. It shrinks, so the layout looks REALLY bad. I'm gonna have to fix that...

i use 1024 x 768.

I use 800 x 600, then again, my eyesight is pretty poor (I wear contacts/glasses) and 1024 x 768 really hurts my eyes (literally).

I used 800x600 for five years, and only this year did I discover the wonders of 1024x768. That resolution is heaven to me.... I'd hate it if I ever saw a site that required a resolution higher than 800x600 though, cause that is just cruel to the 800x600ers and lower

My monitor can go up to 1280 x 1024, but everything looks so tiny at that resolution... so I stick to 1024 x 768.

One comp at my house is 1024x768, this one's...uh...1280x1024
