Hi, I'm new to the board here. I have a question about adding your own textures/fonts. I am using psp 8 and I want to know how you can add textures to your blend. I've downloaded some from different websites and now I want to know how you can add them to blends. Also, I've downloaded fonts from websites. How do you get those to work on psp 8?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks to whoever helps me in advance!

I don't understand what you mean by adding textures to blends, but I can answer about the fonts. Don't install fonts into your windows fonts folder. Instead save them into a folder somewhere on your harddrive. Then when you need to use one just double click on it and send it to the taskbar then it will show up in PSP. Or better yet, get a font viewer such as The Font Thing (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/tft.html) then you can view/use every font in the folder without clicking on them.
If you can explain further about what you want to do with the textures maybe I can answer that :duh:

IF you would like to install the fonts permanently to Windows, here's how:
>Unzip the font in one window
>Goto control panel in another window
>Switch the control panel to Classic view if needed
>Click on the font folder
>Drag the unzipped font to the font folder
>You're all done
Hope that helped,

An example, if you have one, would be nice. If you are in fact talking about what I think you're talking about. I add the texture/pattern on a different layer and play around with the blend modes and opacity until I find something I like.
For the fonts, whatever fonts you install to your computer itself (windows folder) will show up in psp.

Sorry to bring up a slightly dead thread but....
The use of textures is outlined in my blending tutorial. It is for PS but it can easily be used for PSP because other then the filters (which you can ignore) it explains the basics of layer masking and the use of texture.

As for fonts you want to download them (as long as they are for windows) and install them to C:\Windows\Fonts open up PSP and select the text tool and they should be there.

I have to clarify something....I said don't install fonts because the more you have the more it slows down both Windows and PSP when they load. Not only that Windows is limited in the amount of fonts that can be installed. And another advantage of not installing them is the more you have the more you have to wade through to find the one you want...think about it...you have 250 fonts installed and your drop down list in PSP is HUGE!
