I'm from Australia and our currency is the Aussie dollar, and above the number 4 on our keyboards is $.
I was wondering, do people in the UK or living in Europe have the pound or Euro sign there instead?
Do Americans and Canadians have the $ sign there?

what about countries like spain and france where some of their letters have accents over them? do they have actual keys for those letters? or do they have to insert that character manually from the character map?

the would be MAD annoying. No, they have keys. I used a German one once, and the y/z are switched, and they have keys for the letters with umlauts like where the brackets are on the English one.

when i was in turkey on a holiday and used the computer in the hotel on regular bases... i noticed that when i typed an "I" it would show an "Y" ... and the I was located under another button ...

so they had the same keyboard, just have some letters switched on another place. Probably has to do with the way their words and sentences are made etc. i dunno ..

I'm glad my laptop just does "alt key + u + letter of choice" and it makes ü
or "alt key + e + letter of choice" makes é
lovely :)

i'm using an american keyboard aswell.. but i have a russian keyboard too. i suck at using it because each key is different from the american keyboard. even similar-sounding letters aren't in the same space. so when i try to type in russian on it, it ends up looking like gibberish because i forget that the keys are different
