Since a year ago i have netbanking and i love it. i noticed that i buyed stuff online that i would normally buy in a store. Its just much more easier and i know what i'm buying. Also there are much more things to choose from. Filling in a form and the next day it comes with the mail.

Do you guys buy things online?

nope not really.
Thinking about it though, i want the shoebox from SATC (season 1 - 6) and it's 140 euro's where i can buy it RL, but 127 euro's (+ 1,50 or something for sending it) on bol.com (kinda like ebay etc, but then dutch).

So i'm kinda thinking about it ... If the price of 140 euro's was still cheaper then buying all the seasons seperately i would say "oh why not just go for the easy way and buy it at the shop" but that's the problem, even with the extra costs and all the seasons together i don't get 140 euro's on my calculator. Yeah i'm even wondering why they offer it in their magazine (the shop in RL) because what's the point of a boxset that is actually more expensive then all the DVD season boxes together? hmm..

if I want something from say, Best Buy, then I'll order it online because it would be too much of a hassle to figure out what bus to take to the nearest Best Buy, when it would come, worry about getting one back (the entire freshman engineering class was told during orientation when they were talking about stuff to do that it's easy to get stranded at the shopping center where it is, because the buses don't go there very often [compared to those going downtown or anything- if you wanted to get somewhere downtown you'd probably have to wait no more than 3 minutes for any ol' bus here]- and their only advice? there's one restaurant there that's open 24 hours if we get stranded :P). it's much easier to walk down to the lobby, open my mailbox, hand the mailroom person the card, and walk away with the package.

Thank god I don't have a credit card, because I buy stuff online all the time with my debit.

Usually Amazon.com or Threadless.com for clothing.

I Wish i had one.. i needed it though a time ago for buying something in the USA
(here in the netherlands we pay mostly by banktransfer). And now it seems that the thing i wanted is sold out and wil not be restocked :(

http://www.campusfood.com is my best friend.

it just makes things easier because you can view the full menus and place the order that way. you don't have to mess around with the paper menus and then call and attempt to get whoever answers to get the order right.

most big pizza chains do online ordering. I'm not sure which pizza chains you have up north but I know that Pizza Hut does that. Just go to their website.

I also buy jeans online
I used to have to do that... like up until about a year ago. I am 6' tall and i have a 35" inseam so I need long pants. It used to be the only place that had long enough pants was the GAP but they only sold their long sizes online. Now it seems like it's trendy to have long pants because even Regular length pants are just about long enough, and Long length pants are almost TOO Long!

I believe Papa Johns and Pizza Hut are the two main ones for online ordering. that's all I really know of, at least around here.

they're in some areas- I don't have any near me at home, but here at school there are some (or at least there's one close enough to my school that they'll deliver here- and residence life has some deal with them, so for any building function they get Papa Johns pizzas, and they get a discount :P)

and we also have Dominos, although they don't have online ordering for the whole chain- although the one nearest me does participate with campusfood.com

one of the most recent things I bought on Ebay was a golden bracelet with very shiny opals and rubies. After I bought it I felt a little uneasy, 'cause I spent about $250 on something I only saw on pictures, and I had no idea if it was worth that much money, it was a bit of an impulsive thing to do.
I just received it last week, and today I took it the jewler's store to have it made smaller.
The jewler said it was genuine gold, with genuine gemstones, and that it was worth a lot more than what I paid for it - phew!
It's always a bit of a gamble, buying stuff on ebay, but it seems this time I've done good business :)
I do always look into people's feedback before placing a bid, and I do shop around a bit - for example, the lonely planet book on Thailand was cheaper if I bought it new on Amazon, than if I got it second hand on Ebay - simply because books are heavy and shipping costs really add up.

I always ask if i can get it myself instead of sending it, if its close and if they say yes you can come and get it, i say just send it.

i have a reason for it. once i bought something and did the banktransfer that guy disappeared with my money.. since then i think the method above proves if someone is a liear or really wants to sell something

yeah, well, if the seller lives abroad that's not always an option, but I wouldn't buy anything expensive if the seller didn't have over 95% positive feedback, and has sold quite a couple of items already.

yeah i forgot haha, ebay is secondhanded :P

anywayz, how did you payed on bol.com ?
i don't have a creditcard, do have the option to transfer via the internet but i'm a little unsure about it.

I really want the SATC shoebox haha, but i'm already sure i won't get it at my first option store. Even if i bought all the seasons seperately i pay allot less then in the shop my mom is a member off. I'm still clueless why they ask so much money for it ... To me boxes are always a little cheaper, that's so "special" about them.

Love,
Mirna

I'm not complaining, because I used to always have to buy long pants... yay for tall girls :P

But you're absolutely right. I can put on a pair of regular jeans and actually have them be long enough. So either everyone has realized that they make pants too short, or everyone's getting taller :P

Or they want to drive us normal height people crazy :P Last summer I went into a girls clothing store and tried on a girls 16 pair of pants... they're at least 3 inches too long for me, longer than any pair of women's size pants I own, and the size down was tighter than I like (and was still slightly too long :P) :\

As for the original topic of this thread, we only buy computer type goodies online.

i answered this...hmmm..or not...

well i buy things. One thing i had a problem with and the ONLY thing i've had problems with was an item on ebay. Supposedly she sent it, didn't get it...so she sent something else with tracking..didn't get it...won't answer my emails asking her for the tracking number...hmmm
The worst part is she has a good reputation and had sold stuff recently.

But i've bought my fair share online and always gotten it, no problems. I love shopping online but not for clothes because it's so hard for me to find something that fits, i need to try it on...

i get clothing online [only from jcrew] because they have really good sales online and i hate going to the mall unless i know exactly what i'm looking for. and i buy "electronics" online. it's more convenient [and can be cheaper].

Yeah i try to avoid small shops that i don't know if they even exists. most of the bigger shops are in shop surveys and there are user comments.

I'd buy stuff off Amazon or Tokyopop.com if I had a credit card. Yeah, so most of my purchases would be books, music, DVDs or manga...

did they get stolen, or did he give them to the wrong person? there's a BIG difference- a lot of that kind of thing could be prevented if people used more common sense than most tend to...
