Anybody think I can be a newbie again? I love it how people are so nice to newbies, and I want more of that. :fish2: :teddy:
p.s. Am I being too selfish?

View Full Version : New Again? Katja 02-16-2005, 01:24 AM Anybody think I can be a newbie again? I love it how people are so nice to newbies, and I want more of that. :fish2: :teddy: p.s. Am I being too selfish? tokyo bleu 02-16-2005, 02:01 AM It seems that you're saying as members get older, they aren't as nice? A lot of the members are nice regardless of ranking. Monkey Bizzle 02-16-2005, 05:26 AM i think it's the other way around. i think that the longer a member has been here, the more "respect" they get? it seems like people aren't as patient with n00bs as they are with people that have been around. or, it seems like if a n00b does something n00bish, it's annoying, but if a regular does the same thing, it can be laughed about and that's it... Marianne 02-16-2005, 09:26 AM erm... since you only joined last month, you still ARE a newby... right? :confusion Kubi 02-16-2005, 11:56 AM Well Lissa does state in the rules everyone should be respected from Pee-Wee to Moderator. So I doubt it`s different when you are as newbie or even an icon.. :wolf: -Kubi Sphere 02-16-2005, 12:09 PM The ranks don't say anything to me.. someone thats just registered for 2 days and gets an higher rank then newbie is still a newbie in my eyes. And i don't think that people are less nice to you if you have an other rank.. Marianne 02-16-2005, 02:24 PM True, I think people are mainly respected for how they act around the forum, not for the number of posts or anything else. Dutch.American 02-16-2005, 02:40 PM Yes, it does all depend on how YOU act. Show respect and earn it aswell. :D Kubi 02-16-2005, 02:48 PM Plus you can only be a newbie if you arenew not just if you sayand that probably isn`t the correct combanation ut O.K  :wolf: -Kubi Pink4eva 02-16-2005, 03:33 PM Would you still call me a Newbie? Ive been here for nearly 2 month lol. starlet 02-16-2005, 05:35 PM We've had the newbie debate before, i think we decided everyone counts a different amount of time as n00b time...to me, ive been here 4 and a half years so anyone whos been here less than a year is a newbie to me, to people who have been here 6 months then a person probably become not a n00b after a few weeks etc. Pink4eva 02-16-2005, 07:24 PM We've had the newbie debate before, i think we decided everyone counts a different amount of time as n00b time...to me, ive been here 4 and a half years so anyone whos been here less than a year is a newbie to me, to people who have been here 6 months then a person probably become not a n00b after a few weeks etc. WOW 4 and a half years thats a long time  Naerly as long as i have had the internet lol. Dude128 02-16-2005, 08:32 PM I tend to think of anyone that's not an "oldie" (starlet, lefty, karen, etc.) as a newbie I don't think there really is a time frame for when someone is "accepted", if you will- it depends more on their actions. if you have to ask if you're a noob, then you are :P Makar 02-16-2005, 09:50 PM Jan 2005? o_o I tend to consider anyone who signed up less than a year ago a newbie. I joined less than two years ago, though, so I'm probably still a newbie to a lot of the older members. :P Rickyhos 02-16-2005, 11:23 PM I give the same respect to all members, unless they are being a well jerk. But, then it is their fault. :P Just saying there is no difference between Mods, Icons, or pee-wees. Kubi 02-16-2005, 11:34 PM O.K maby we should all agree to this:You can only be called a newbie when you have only been here a week and a half.agreed?*Nods coaxingly at the people around him* :wolf: -Kubi Munchkin 02-17-2005, 01:40 AM ^ Do you really need to name when you go from n00bness to.....not n00bness? It doesn't really matter. To me, someone who's only been here a week and a half is still a n00b, but I've only been here....*thinks* two years?, I think, so that means that to people like Starlet and lefty and such I am a newbie. This is actually a kind of pointless debate, but I'm bored, so I'll chip in my two cents worth. Marianne 02-17-2005, 09:21 AM People like Makar and Munchkin are definitely not newbies to me. Sphere 02-17-2005, 09:12 PM Well i feel also a newbie to those that signed up a lot of years earlier then me Kubi 02-17-2005, 09:29 PM ^ Do you really need to name when you go from n00bness to.....not n00bness? Newbies aren`t always n00bs.. :wolf: -Kubi Katja 02-17-2005, 09:30 PM Good points all, I guess I was thinking the really new people, who have just posted a new thread in the Introduce Yourself forum, and who still embelish their text in any way possible, such as color. This was just a random idea, so there is no need to get all worked up about it. Kubi 02-17-2005, 09:35 PM So you think being a newbie is doing this? It`s not..That`s just being a-round-the-clock-n00b.. :wolf: -Kubi |
