Ok I have some images that I want to use as avatars on my forum. But the image is in a white square. You know what I mean? The background colour (thats how we spell color in Australia btw) is white but I want to get rid of the background.

Could anyone possibly tell me how?

Depends on what program you're using. In Photoshop, you could take the Magic eraser tool and click in the white areas. In PSP, you could probably go to File>>Export>>Gif Optimizer and select "areas that match this color" and put in white.

I don't have those things. Each image comes up on Microsoft Photo Editor. Know how I could do this with the MPE?

Thanks. But even though the background goes white and gray, would the whole background be clear when its on a site? Or as an avatar on my forum?
